why does the dealer need to have the vin# for ordering a hud unit??

They want a VIN for most everything.

They are trying to order you a replacement which they will not be able to get because the vin doesnt have one. They have to be ordered from the manufacturer and not GM which is how I get them. I got them instock if you need one

I'd go with Patrick on this. I tried ordering through a dealer and it was delayed by GM so many times for no real reason. I finally canceled and ordered from Patrick. The kit had everything needed except the harness which I got from 2SSRS. I got the HUD kit in about a week, and the pricing was better than the dealer.

Anybody know of people doing the install in Idaho or Utah? I'm deployed to Afghanistan right now, but as soon as I get back (September/October hopefully) it is the first thing I want to do.

I'm very seriously considering doing this just as soon as I get my tax refund in my account. That new homebuyer credit will come in handy! The only question is whether I can do it myself (my car work experience is limited to putting in the aux gauges and a CAI - so close to none), and if not who to go to.

Patrick, can I save a few bucks by driving the hour north from Delaware Co. to pick up the parts?

And do you have a clone of Ofer in a cabinet somewhere who can help with the install? lol

I do hud installs. Been a mechanic for many years. Did my own vehicle. Pm if interested. Comfortable in doing this type of job. I live in Michigan
