I was at the trackdaze event in my viper. Went back for the club event to test out the z/28, because i didnt want to wait till spring.

Ran a 2:50 in the viper and a 2:57 in the Z. Def a few more seconds left in the Z. Ive got countless hrs in the viper, and the z was my first and only day in it, the high temp was 50, but grip was good.

Ran CoTA (Circuit of the Americas) and best time was 2:47 average for about 4 laps. Check out my CoTA album too. Unbelievable F1 runs this course in about 1:35 ...

If you ever get the chance to run on this track - DO IT !!!

The 1LE is a great car!

LOL, it's like looking in a mirror.

My goal is to beat my Viper's 1:52.7 with my Camaro at Buttonwillow Raceway. The cars are surprisingly close. The all-stock 2013 Viper GTS's 1:52.7 was on fresh Hoosier A6s, and the Camaro's 1:53.9 was on old Hoosier R6s. I think with equivalent tires the cars would be dead even. My Camaro has a lot of mods including gobs of downforce, but I'm still shocked that it is in the same league as the 500 Lb lighter, more powerful Viper.

Here's the Camaro's 1:53.9. For more info on the Buttonwillow weekend, see my sig.

Yep, that would be me. Fantastic system and exceptional service from Peter. I got a SmartyCam HD (the new one with external mic) and a Solo DL for the Viper.

The Camaro uses the same SmartyCam HD but has a more extensive system to monitor engine health as well as driver performance. I went with a local shop for this because I needed help with installation:
  • G-Dash display (Lots of multi-colored programmable LEDs to monitor sensors)
  • Evo4 under the seat
  • Datahub (needed for additional CAN channels)
  • Sensors- oil temp, oil pressure, brake pressure, 02 sensors

I still need to work out microphone placement, a lot of wind-buffeting noise at high speeds. You can hear this in the Camaro vid.

Just a quick follow up on my rims in response to the post below. I took them to a local shop with a nice balancing machine and had them run a computer print-out on each of the rims. I sent that info to Jurrian at Mod Bargins who forwarded it on to Forgestar, and Forgestar has agreed to cut me a NEW set if rims and ship them to me! They have a theory as to what happened, and they want me to ship them back so they can run some tests. Forgestar is saying they definitely shouldn't have bent like they did and want to get to the bottom of exactly why they did bend.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Jurrian has been awesome to work with throughout this entire process and he's really helped me a lot. While I wish they never had bent in the first place, knowing Forgestar is going to make it right, and having Jurrian in my corner has made me a happy customer despite this little hiccup. All is good!

I'll be taking them to Kwiksilver in Greensboro to have them looked at so I'm hoping for the best. It's just disappointing that they may not be what I need for the track. The next time I go back I'll definitely be trailering my street rims just in case, lol.

Sounds good! What is their theory? Anyhow, I ended up getting OEM Z/28 wheels for track duty. At 26.2 lbs each, they are not far off from Forgestars in terms of weight, either : )

I sent you a PM about those OEM wheels. Not exactly sure on the theory they have yet. I'm sure Jurrian will let me know after they test them.

The Ridge is also one of my favorites. Glad to see other Camaro owners also like it : )
Was it your first time?

Looking forward to try my 1LE there when the season opens. I heard they are fixing a few turns (T13, etc.) at the time..

No the second time. We try to make at least one trip per year.

Holy cow, that track looks FUN! I'll bet those elevation changes and blind corners are awesome! Thanks for posting!
