i know this is an old thread, but most squeaky brake threads seem to be about the ss brembos.
any progress on this? my brakes squeak at low speeds and when i apply brakes sometimes.
it sounds like something rubs every time the wheel turns. kinda rhythmic. the dealer said its just dust and completely normal. but its so annoying. and embarrassing when I'm driving around campus.

thank god I found this thread..... mine have a continuous squeak when driving at slow speeds. I took it into the dealership who said he could find nothing wrong (at the time I was convinced it was something to do with the bearings). My problem sounds exactly like all the others posting in here..... any remedies we can do ourselves? I appreciate the help in advance guys, I always pick up a ton of knowledge on here

I do and I have the V6 2LT.

I didn't start hearing it until I was around 25-30k miles. Initially I only heard it in the morning when it was cold or when it had been sitting (like all day before I left from work) and after 5-10mins of driving it would go away and wouldn't restart until later if it sat for several hours. I was up for service anyway so when I dropped it off I asked them to look into it. They stated there was plenty of padding and apparently contacted Chevy regarding the issue and were told that it was due to the "performance brakes" used and that was normal/expected behavior "when cold". I'm now around 41k miles and there is more noise and I did have an odd experience a few weeks ago where while I was driving it was making a loud high pitched noise, I took it to a different mechanic than the dealer and he couldn't find anything (but the noise also stopped when he looked at it and hasn't been back (like that since). Now I have a noise but I'm thinking at 41k the pads probably need a replacing and I'm actually trying to figure out which pads are best.

my 3 week old, 2012 LS1 camaro is the first car i've driven in a while that has smooth, 100% noise-free brakes. knock on wood

GERRRR, i hate this noise. Dealer said its "normal" because of the pads gm uses.. I've used racing pads on my old car that sounded quieter then these.... lol what gives =(

I have the v6 brakes (hawk pads) on the rear of my car and it does have a tendency to squeak now and then. I haven't really pinpointed it as to the conditions in which it happens but I will make note of it the next time it happens.
