Well, Here's my update! I just got off the phone with my dealer and he informed me that they are giving me my deposit back for my 2nd order. According to them they got a phone call from GM Management about an "unhappy customer that does not wnat to do business with them" so they are returning my deposit. So I guess now, they have 2 cars ordered in my name and I am getting neither of them. I have a call in with GM customer service and they are sending my call to the next level. The district supervisor is supposed to call me within 24hrs. I told them I want both of the orders cancelled that are in my name. This dealer does not deserve to get cars ordered as fake sold orders and that is exactly what they are doing. So please spread the word DO NOT BUY FROM ROD HATFIELD CHEVROLET IN LEXINGTON, KY !!!!!!

C'mon guys, we've been over all of this before. GM can't and won't cancel either of the orders. It's entirely up to the dealer to do the right thing (or not). My call to GM customer service (oxymoron) went to "the next level" as well and basically that was the guy who told me they can't do anything about dealers' orders. They can't cancel them from their end. Period.

The only thing GM could do is cut allocations to the "bad" dealers and give them to the good guys out there. But I don't even know if they can do that contractually. I just wish there were a way that those of us who had to go to the back of the line could get some sort of break from GM. That they could do if they really cared enough about what's happened to us.

Hip Hip Hooray. Camaro Scotty for president! You may have to wait but at this point it is so worth it not to have to deal with this rip off dealer ever again. And the final report is not yet in. I really think that GM does care and they do not want the dealers messing up their Camaro preorder process like this. They may just set an example. GO GM! Keep us updated.

Is nobody else noticing that the "resolution" basically means she's now not getting a car? At least not a preorder because we're well past that date. And if she reorders now who knows when she'll get her car? I cancelled and reordered mine a while ago and I still have no idea when my order will be pulled from my new dealer. The solution isn't just to cancel the original orders (which will never happen) but to EXPEDITE our new orders commensurate with when we placed our ORIGINAL orders. But that would mean someone getting involved beyond the point of making a simple phone call to tell a dealer someone's pissed off. If she had wanted to cancel her second order she could have done that herself.

Of course I had noticed that he money (deposit ) was being returned. I also think the the ball is now rolling and that the final resolution will turn out to be favorable for her. She has a lot of good people on her side on this one and Camaro Scotty was the one that got the ball rolling. I got the faith man, I got the faith. Lets see what the final resolution turns out to be.

Ugh.

Hopefully Scotty can work some magic and find a low-allocation dealer within driving distance that can work a delivery deal out with you.

You can order from any dealer and have the car dropped shipped to a dealer close to you. At least you could do this, maybe not anymore.....

How far do you want to drive for a car?
