Interesting ratings.

I would rate my Challenger tops in fit and finish, then my Mustang, and then my Camaro.

But I suppose it can be the luck of the draw. I think Ford is doing the right things lately on quality, the Germans had a good influence on Chrysler, and GM has a ways to go. Just my own experience.

There's a lot of categories here, and plenty of room for subjectivity.

The Camaro definitely beats the Mustang in certain categories.

Umm, you have a 2010 Camaro SS, a 2010 Mustang GT, and a Challenger r/t?
I want your job...

"gotta have it" and "fun to drive"

what kind of objective ratings are those?

When you look at the C&D cover, one thing comes to mind, and it really shouldn't be a surprise: This story will sell a lot of issues. Why, look at the cover, it is supposed to surprise you. Nearly all other articles have given the camaro the edge, and even here the camaro beats the mustang down the drag strip handily. Most people assume the mustang actually beat the camaro on a drag strip, since that is the first thing people think when they see a comparo between a mustang and a camaro. When people see this, they pick up the magazine, and are more likely to buy it.

One thing that really upset me was the transmission on the mustang received more points than that on the camaro, but then they suggested ford should step up to the EXACT same M6 transmission the camaro uses. So then they would have to lower the mustangs transmission score? Something isn't right with this article, but I think it got the reaction they were looking for, to sell more issues of this toilet paper magazine.

yeah they said that about the camaros transmission not being as well as the mustang 5 speed, YET the shelby gt500 uses the exact same tremec 6 speed transmission and it's the top dollar mustang

maybe they liked the overall gearing in the mustang better (including rear and tire height).

They were reffering to the shifting feel/throw action.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
