Hey chase do you know if the 2014 zl1's come with a strong one already? I'll be installing my roto fab in a few days.

I have not come across this issue with the ZL1.

I have a K24 but my car bucks at idle and sometimes has a hard time trying to get started. Not a hard time kicking over, just hard time starting. I did the #5 and 20 fuse pull and the idle has gotten better, but it is still somewhat noticeable that it bucks. What are other symptoms of a bad mass airflow sensor and also how do you clean one? I thought for sure until I pulled mine out that it would be a weak one.

You can find Mass Airflow Cleaner in most auto parts stores.

pull it out of the car after you have driven it 20min or so so its hot then spray it with MAF cleaner let it dry then put it back in.

I dont know could the stock tune get ****ed up? Like I said before it only does it when I drive for a while.. I can take trips to work and what not for months but the one day I drive more than 150+ miles it kicks on after I shit the car off to get gas or take a break... Took to 3 different dealerships and no one knows

Was the vehicle new or used when you purchased it? Do you have the oem intake yet?

Very thorough and useful explanation. Many thanks indeed

I must admit I was not even aware of the issue.

I did change my air filter element for a K&N filter a couple of years ago (my car is a 2010 2SS), but I did retain the original "airbox".
Immediately felt the improvement in response (I assumed I would not feel a thing given the small gain advertised, but it can be felt) but never got any issues at all regarding WOT acceleration: must have been lucky and got a strong MAF sensor in my CAMARO.

Useful info, thanks again for it!!!

A filter replacement is usually not enough of a change to throw the "weak" MAF sensors off enough for it to cause driveability issues. Sometimes an intake system alone will do it but many times it takes that plus a scoop or ported throttle body.

Used and I have the oem intake on now and it's not throwing codes anymore.. What's crazy is LMR said that you don't have to tune for their CAI.. So I have no clue why it's deciding to do it with me and they have no clue eother

Then that pretty much nails down that it is related to their intake.

Yea just weird how they say you don't need a tune and I haven't seen anyone else with that problem.. Guess that shows each car reacts different to shit

There is always some variation in how cars respond to changes but I don't understand why your car is doing what it is doing. I would be very interested to find out what is going on.
