VIR full this past weekend, either 2:18 or 2:19, hard to tell from the video (uploading to youtube now). I don't have a lap timer. Dry, mid-70s for temps.

2014 Camaro 1SS, automatic, all stock except trans cooler, a cat-back, and the 1LE "oil control kit."

I don't have a lap timer either, but there's a work-around that'll get you closer than the nearest second at your start and finish times.

There is a way in Windows Media Player to advance the video one frame at a time, and back the video up by whole seconds. It's a slight PITA to count frames from when the whole seconds advance by one until you match the car to some reference point, but you can time down to whatever the frame rate is (30 fps is about .033 seconds per frame). It'll certainly be good enough to find the "x" in what's almost certainly a 2:18.x to within 0.1 second.

I've been working with this kludge over the last couple of days, and the 1:37 NJMP/Thunderbolt time (post #106) was really about 1:37.6.

You can always use your phone, too. The phone's own GPS only runs at 1Hz, but it's much more accurate than 1Hz would suggest. The program knows how far away you were, and what your last speed was at your last update before passing the line, and what your location and speed is at the next update, so interpolating the data actually makes it very accurate due to limitations (and predictability) of rate of engine acceleration/deceleration by the finish line.

Yeah... that might not work : )

Have you seen this?
Motorola XT1540 Unlocked Moto G (3rd Generation)

It's incredibly cheap, yet incredibly powerful, and it's also waterproof! It think it's the best bang for the buck in the whole phone universe; just saying

Nope, haven't seen it. But I'm not shopping for a phone now and not really planning to any time soon. Hopefully I'll stay smart enough to keep this one away from car wash buckets and not have to.

If I had something like that, I'd get Harry's Lap Timer and be done with it. But sporadic use of HLT isn't enough by itself to justify a phone that can run it, and as capable as that particular device appears to be there just isn't enough else I'd use it for either.

1:44.978, 10/16/15, Gingerman Raceway, 50 degrees, light rain at times during my lap but not enough to get the track wet. Stock engine (besides stand alone oil cooler), CTSV front brake swap, BFG Rivals.
This was a 2 second improvement over my previous best. It was a great way to end the season. Video to come!
