It's almost too bad we don't have a filter that would
Mount like right in the lower opening of the front fascia. However it'd be more prone to hydro lock

You can get the Aussie OTR intakes from MACE, but you'll find they're pretty spendy, even with the exchange rate being in our favor. You'd be better off picking up a cheap Vararam and try that route or build your own.

I tried it with a Vararam once:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=348813
It was real close, but I bailed. With some more "massaging" of the radiator cap clearance area it might have been made to fit... Or maybe with a low profile radiator cap if a guy could fin done?
our +12 model years have a different radiator like Jason points out, so the OTR is designed differently. Shown below is the current intake design where the OTR has clearance over the cap and fill spout.

and here are the older generation intakes prior to the new radiator design - mine is a 2011 and has this style OTR.

This is exciting news for the LFX gang. If this pans out I'd be upgrading your LFX engine with these cams soon before GM 6th Gen turbo charged 4 bangers hit the streets.

Absolutely kaboom! But I get the feeling with that platform being lighter and factory turbos being easy to mod they could be trouble for us V6s without FI.

On a side note is there any real advantage to a OTR intake beside the fact of a more straight air flow to the manifold?

[QUOTE=Danthuyer;8453498]A_Dilla - around 400 BHP nand it is AWESOME to drive !

That's sweet.. i really wanna see more videos and see people install them in a camaro. I wonder if you get any more power because of all the other stuff I have installed. That 400hp is just the cams..

You are correct - I have been monitoring MAF temperatures since the OTR intake went on and yes there is a noticeable difference with temperatures compared to when the MAF was in the original position on the side of the factory airbox. It takes a considerably longer amount of time to get the intake temperature to match the ambient temperature.

There are a couple of options:

1 - Trim the rubber liner on the underside of the bonnet to allow air to come through (could cause issues in very heavy rain)

2 - Duct the air into the filter area

I am playing around with option two first to monitor temps before going to option one

A straight shot to the TB is always going to result in greater velocity (velocity makes power) VS a 90* elbow.

Like this. I have had the cams for app 6 months now and may go ahead and install them and hold off on FI for now. Was looking at SC. I really like the looks of this CAI and also think it could be the most power gains/lowest IAT temps to date of any others I have looked at.

Keep us updated Danthuyer!

Can't have headers. High flow cats are our best options. We got either American racing or solo high flows. Solo is more expensive and no codes and sound good. American racing are about half the cost of solo I believe flow a little better but they will get a code and idk how they sound. However I'm considering going with American racing if these cams work out so when I get tuned I'll just turn the CEL off lol

I heard hi flo cats are not gonna do anything for the 12+ LFX.. is that true? And what code does it turn on? I'd rather go Solo if it don't turn on.

I had the SOLOs for a while. Sound amazing. Great build. Great company. Never checked the gains specifically but it definitely felt better. Plus some weight shed. Don't expect to be romping on V8s but it was worth it IMO. They also made the exhaust note deeper and fuller. The longer I had them on the car, the better they sounded. Never threw a code. Passed inspection easily in NY. Only got rid of them bc my SC would've caused them to fail

I wonder how much total to the crank with what I have.. full Jones boar racing mufflers with custom 3" pipes all the way back.. deleted resonator, x pipe, ipf tune, roto-fab cai, ported throttle body and vitesse throttle body controller.????
