I asked because all of a sudden I received multiple notifications of new posts from a thread that had been inactive since the end of last year. Two posts, two notifications??

It's still random for me. Sometimes I get them (like for this thread) and sometimes I don't. Especially private messages...

It could be a time-of-day coincidence.

Instants seem to start working at around 1:30 am (eastern), and keep working until early afternoon on weekdays & late afternoon/early evening on weekends. I have no idea why this pattern exists, but its probably an important detail & explains why weeklys work (sent out at 1:30 am) while dailys don't (sent at 1am).

Well today I'm getting my notifications as I should. I've set them for instant and I noticed I get notification on my phone shortly after something has been posted on a thread that I'm subscribed to. Before today, it was more like a daily update.

Something odd happened last night.

I got an instant thread reply notice shortly after midnight ... for a post made on the 30th in the middle of the afternoon. Its been months since I've received an instant at that time of day -and I've never gotten an instant nearly a day and a half late. But hey, better late than never.

This whole thing is really weird. I have subscribed to a few threads just to see if I get any instant messages - initially I get one, but then none. I know that because I bother to check when the last posts were made.

The weird part is that I get an instant message from this thread every time.

Also, the daily updates for various sub-forums never come through. Is there another Camaro forum that doesn't have this issue???

It seems to be related to the time of day. Mornings are usually fine, afternoons can be iffy, and evenings are pretty much a no-go.

It's just email, don't we have support or something for the forum software that can assist? Not getting notifications makes it impossible for active members (those that actually bother to post information) to keep up.
