325/30/19

These Michelin Pilot Super Sports fit perfectly on the Z/28.

Why not run 305s MPSS on the front.

Front wheel is 11" wide. That's a 315 easy. I don't see 315/30/19 out there. So a Bridgestone 325/30/19 which runs narrow is my solution for what I'm wanting.

325s in the 105 load rating would be nice all round. I was looking at the Continental street/track tires that are being discontinued. Downside they only see a few track days and street would kill them. I actually liked the Pirelli tires I had. They were a better bread to the stock crap that came on our cars.

Its not the wear I'm worried about, its road debris puncturing or damaging the soft compound Trofeo. Need some throw down wheels and tires for the street. What are your all thoughts on the replica Z28 wheels in 19".
I was even thinking of going with 20" wheels since the tires are easier to get. Has anyone done 20's for the street?
I do not trust replica wheels for the lateral loads this car sees at the track.
sounds like you and I are in the same category. I rarely drive my Z on the street unless I am on the way to the track. I am using Nitto NT01 which I really like, maybe better then the trofeo. I am using a custom set of forge star wheels. I had them make me 11" wide rims with the same offset for all 4 wheels. I split the difference between factory front and rear offsets. I am running stick 305 size on all 4 corners. no rub issues and I can move the tires around to any of the 4 corners as wear needs require. the Nitto is more predictable than the trofeo, making them a more communicative tire.

For a "more normal" car, I might agree. But for a Z/28 I won't, because you'd be throwing away some of it's built-in goodness in things like turn-in response and steering precision. Qualities that you might feel while cornering at 0.4 lat-g on the street, or at least notice when they've suddenly gone MIA.

11" with 315's or 325's for a Camaro is what you'd do on the rear of a ZL1 or maybe even an SS for drag racing where the only turns you need to make are onto the return road.

Understood. The beauty in it all is that it's your car to do what you want to do with it.

I finally got to the point where I couldn't wait any longer for Michelin to produce some MPSS's for "Regular" use on my Z, so I decided one more time to go look at Tire Rack and make a decision on a "runner-up" of sorts...and to my absolute surprise, Bridgestone was finally showing the RE-71R available in 305/30R19! I was very happy to see this and pulled the trigger.

I had them installed last week. Thus far, I am very happy. They seem to launch much better than the Trofeos (that is, until the Trofeos are HOT). They also seem much more compliant on the streets for every day driving. I've never been a big Bridgestone fan, but I am extremely happy with these tires (plus I think their tread looks really cool). They're also a TON better on wet roads.

I'll still use Trofeos for the track, but for every day stuff I think I've found my new tire. We'll see how they work once it gets colder here.

I only did the rears. I would love to use MPSS 325/30/19 upfront but I believe the tire would be too wide and bulge on the 11" front wheel. Upfront I'm still on skinny 305/30/19s Bridgestone S04s. <----Not for long.

I just got some new Trofeo R's delivered and am going to get them installed tomorrow. I went with 305's up front and 325's in back. My understanding is that the Z/28 was designed to use the 325's in rear, but they changed them to 305 at the Nurburgring and ran a little faster. I'm curious if they will help or hurt the car's handling.
