As far as your vibe, WBT is right...this system comes very close to touching the IRS support brace on the passenger side. I would double check that there is no contact there. And...if I understood you correctly, you state that one of the U clamps is touching a heat shield? You need to correct that! Also make sure the brace underneath the X-pipe isn't touching the exhaust tubes.
thanks for the tips, i'm gonna try to get under the car tonight but i'm not sure how i'm gonna stop the u clamp from touching the heat shield. I had to put a screwdriver between the pipe and the heat shield just to get the clamp on in the first place. When you say I need to correct that do you mean it will damage something if I don't? Or just vibrate my a$$ off.

I think some of these exhausts were built wrong. I got an axle back a few weeks ago and am still working with Cherry Bomb because the passenger side does not fit correctly. They told me a week ago they were going to get a Camaro in there and remeasure and get back to me. Have not heard anything yet.

The clamp will vibrate your ass off while wearing a hole in the heat shield!

As you and I discussed previously, my coupler tube on the passenger side was too long and bent wrong. Maremont sent me a new one and I got the system to fit. I only had a 1/4" clearance between the IRS brace and the exhaust pipe though.

I finally received an updated system late last week. According to them, they did a re-measure and took care of all the problems. I will install mine early next week. Don't have time this weekend to get it done. I will post on the fit when I get it done. The problem was with the axleback, so if you are getting a catback you should be fine.

Do you know if this is a direct fit onto the v6 piping?

Just how much louder is this in person? I listened to the video and it is louder but I want an in person perspective on it otherwise someone that has one that can give me a honest call on if it increases noise level a lot or just enough to make it sound good. I am trying to keep my traffic ticket intake to a minimum.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

So I got my replacement system last week and went to replace it today. As I have said before the axleback was fitted wrong on the passenger side on the earlier systems. First replaced the problem side (passenger side) and everything fit great, absolutely perfect. The chrome tips were slightly different than the last ones, so I go to change the driver's side so they match and guess what? I unwrap it and they sent me two right sides! Unbelievable. Guess we go to round three with Maremont, the company that owns Cherry Bomb. Hopefully they can get it right this time. On a good note, they did resolve the right side fit problems.

I was just about to purchase the Cherry Bomb cat back until the dreaded "drone" word came up in this thread. For those that have experienced it, is it the kind that hurts your ears (like when you have only one window cracked)? Or is it more of a nuissance that you can live with (slight vibration)? I'm actually more concerned for the people that ride with me on the interstate when I'm trying to carry on a conversation.
Thanks in advance!

The "drone" happens about 2K. It is noticeable but not unbearable IMO. Cruising at 70 will have you below 2K RPM so you would be fine.

Put mine [cat back Cherry Bomb system] on the 2SS M6 last Monday . . . been a week now . . . "drone?" "Hurt your ears?"

Listen . . . I am not young . . . but the sound is sweet . . . is it louder than the stock exhaust? Of course! That was precisely the point! But hurt your ears? I would get my ears checked, not my pipes if that were true. That would be a sign of some kind of real problem!

Drone? You mean the sweet sound in the cabin while you are cruising down the road? Yeah, I hear it . . . and it is nice and lets me know I am getting what I paid for. Can I talk on the bluetooth handsfree phone and enjoy tunes even low while driving with no problem? Yes. And while knowing I have a sweet, throaty sound coming out the exhaust.

If you want a stock sound, well, stay stock. But for $399 delivered, and no hassle install . . . I am thrilled with the price point and the product. If I was doing headers, etc., I would go stainless . . . but at this price point for the sound . . . and I will say performance . . . a great buy for me.

Performance? I am sure a little extra. But I installed a CAI Inc cold air intake and the Cherry Bomb system at the same time. Wife took it out and said, "What did you do to my car? It scoots even faster." Those two simple things really opened up the air flow and gave the car a little more wake up feel.

The savings on the Cherry Bomb system [instead of one of the exceptional stainless systems--which are great] not only paid for the CAI Inc cold air, but an Elite Engineering catch can too--even after those purchases, still kept a little cash in my pocket instead of buying a full stainless system. And I am not knocking the big boys.

The Cherry Bombs are not for everybody . . . but working well for me and allowed me to really stretch my buck by allowing for a couple of more purchases for the car beyond simply an exhaust!
