Sounds slow to me, my car went 12.7 with a tune and Roto-Fab CAI. You had headers and couldn't crack the 12's???? Are you trying to impress someone????

You GTO guys are all the same. Always trying to talk up your failure of a car. They made less in 3 years then the Camaro did in 8 months and you're proud of that? The car is an epic GM fail. The reason you don't see many on the road is because they get mistaken for cobalts, cavaliers and sunfires. Congrats, you guys are really going to show us with a supercharged ET the same as our stock one. GTO has great interior and that's where it ends. After 6 years of being spanked by the LS1 F-body I can see why you're so salty. Why don't you guys head back to ls2gto and beat it to an 11 second slip.

That was aimed at the guy I quoted, but I'll bite.

Your car has more power, so of course you'd go faster...but I guess it would be more fun to talk up your over hyped car on the internet with someone who owns a car that doesn't exist anymore. Oh, and between the two times, I forgot how to drive my car so the 60' wasn't too great.

The car was purposely imported to the States at 40k cars through-out its 3 year life, only reason the car was a 'failure' is from all the rednecks that were trying to remember what little fun they had back when the car was originally made and when it looked nothing like the original. I guess the Corvette is allowed to be something different every generation, eh?

Everyone and their mother is in love with this Retro design fad for some reason. The GTO was something different and was kicked to the curb because of that reason alone...oh...and no "hood scoops" when it was released.

Cavaliers/Sunfires/Cobalt jokes are pretty used up, might want to try and find some new material.

Some of the posters I've seen on here remind me of the stuck up snobs on bimmerforums......The resale value on your cars will tank just as much as the GTOs did.

Oh, and another thing...how many of the Camaros made were V8s and V6s?

as for Black5thGen, it took 2 posts out of this thread to realise that you fail at owning a muscle car. why are you bragging about a mid-12 second car? you car isn't crap, so STFU. mod vs. mod is bullcrap. CAI, crappy headers, and stock catback i ran 12.75 at US41 in indiana. so my failure of a car with a couple of boltons is a tick behind you. there are some guys here that would hand you your ass with bolt on GTO's. One 04 in particular that runs pretty consistant mid 11's. That really isn't fast of itself, but it's a "bolt on" GTO that's faster than you. your 12.62 is gay. big deal, your a douchebag with a nice car. sell it to someone who deserves it and buy a mustang. it fits your personality better.

as for my own opinion, the camaro is a beautiful car. you guys have fun with it.

I don't know why people are saying the GTO is the worst car ever built. Yes, my car is ugly, but I didn't buy it based on looks. I bought it cause it had a 400hp LS2 with a T56 6-speed, it rides and handles better then anything I've previously owned, it's reliable, it's VERY comfortable to ride in for long drives as well. I like the fact its not flashy looking, cops don't give me a second look when I drive by, even when I'm driving in a 'spirited' manner. I wanted a muscle car and the GTO was all that GM had at the time and there is nothing wrong with it other then looks. Now that the Camaro is out I want one bad, I've always loved the Camaro, owned a third and fourth gen. My main point is don't go knockin the GTO just cause it was a bland looking car. It was a serious contendor in its class just like the Camaro is today.

See that's the difference between me and you. I don't sign up on other forums to start a pissing match because I have little dick syndrome. I think it's a joke that some one posted a link to this thread on LS1GTO or LS2GTO or where ever you guys came from and now you all have to jump over and give your $.02. My car is pretty much a stock car and runs better numbers than any GTO I've seen with twice the work done. Hell you needed a set of headers. I'm bragging no more then the next guy in this thread. We have 9 second cars here too. So how about you go back to your forum, GTFO and STFU. Thanks!

FYI if you dont have Drag Slicks (Not DR's, full Slicks) at my Track you have to start in the unprepd gravel area. Not the full prepd surface. So i guess go over to SVT and bash on the 03 Cobra guys with pullies running mid 11s! Anytime you wanna bring your BIG DICK syndrome camaro here to nebraska let me know so i can make a vid of the ass kickn

Things the GTO has I wish the Camaro has:
1 None of that plastic crap on the dash and door panels
2 Better form fitting front seats
3 Ambient floor lighting
5 Billet pedals
6 200mph speedo
7 Blaupunkt 6 CD changer

Vice versa

1 GTO could've used a better driver info system
2 GTO shifter came from a dump truck
3 GTO horrible brakes and handling
4 Lack of gauges

Just my opinion from owning both- Camaro is way cooler!

Can the new camaro beat anything? We all ready know it is lucky to beat a 4.6 GT. You might as well forget about an LS1 f-body....and I highly doubt it can hang with an LS2 car of similar weight. That would be nonsense!
