I'm quite surprsed that they think it was too distracting in the Camaro, but the new Lacrosse has it.

Well, it's a whole different design team.

Has anyone seen a Corvette with this HUD? Is it helpful or distracting?

So when can I order a 2011 and be driving it? Plus has the HUD option been confirmed, I really want that feature more than anything.

I am hoping for Automatic Climate Controls, Navigation, and the HUD for 2011. I would pay for those options, especially since I wouldn't have to stare at that fugly center stack. I hope these options are available.

The majority of people with HUD experience (GM's offered it on more than just the 'vette) seem to like it and generally say that its hard going back to normal cars afterward.

Looks like you can order it on April 10th, you can drive it potentially as early as late June. No changes have been mentioned, including HUD. Climate control may be possible, but don't expect nav.

I am relieved, before I believed I wouldn't be able to drive a 2011 until nearly November. Here's hoping at least HUD becomes optional. It's an awesome feature.

I based that off the thread title ... if production starts early June, a lucky few may get their cars 3 weeks later. But it could also be August before you get a car ordered in April. It won't be November unless there is some sort of massive screw-up and your car gets lost in the system a few times.

It's a quality unit, but when it counts, my eyes go to excellent analog gauges.

Don't forget they need special windshields, that cost like a mofo.

Waste of money for me, but the 3LT package includes it, and that's the only way to get a telescoping steering wheel. (A must for me)

But, if you like the idea, it is a quality, high-tech display.

As far as distracting, you can turn it off.

OK, my retrofit memory seats got shot down - what about HUD? Something that could be (reasonably) retrofitted to a 2010?

Well I asked this question about a month ago and back then people were convinced the 2011's wouldn't be in show rooms until the fall.

It's all speculation, and shipping times can be a big variable. 2011's should start showing up in August and possibly even July but September/Fall is the safe bet.
