So I go to look at Painting the back mufflers and see that each of them has a very small hole centered and towards the front. Also each has what looks like a stain running from the whole to the back. I'm assuming that it's there for condensation drainage? I'm looking in the srvice manual for something on it. Heck of way keep condensation from building. Now it doesn't seem like a great idea to paint the cans if they are going to continue to stain. Any yes I am keping he stock mufflers.

tom692010,

You're not being nosey and yes 17k+ is the cost of the base performance package from Callaway for SC572...

But it is worth each penny as you learn the whole story. Callaway Cars are "Powerfully Engineered Automobiles" which are built upon great platforms (Corvette & Camaro). This isn't just your average slap job with a supercharger. Callaway designs their own components to work hand in hand with those from Chevrolet. They make sure that their pieces don't disrupt the normal functions of the stock vehicle, meaning you won't have trouble codes or risk damaging your engine. It comes with a full Chevrolet Warranty intact (this is a no brainer).

All Callaway Camaro's are 50 State Emission Compliant, are held to the same standards as the Large Auto Manufacturers, and they hold their resale value!!!!

At least check them out or come visit for your test drive.

Sounds good to me. Anyone else from Aurora, Parker, Bennett and any place south, we are meeting at the Red Robin at 470 and Parker rd around 8 AM Saturday Morning.
I am in Parker and should be able to make it. Meet you there at 8:00 just after I pick up my Starbucks! Just look for a black SS with paper tag still in the window.

You can get the same SC package from RMCR for under 10k. It just won't say Callaway on it. But it is the same Magnacharger TVS2300 SC and everything to go with it. BumbleB did his own on his car for half the Callaway price.

Adam will be showing us how to properly use the products to remove scratches, etc and how to keep our cars looking like new. There is no cost unless you want to buy some of his products.

Though the SC on the Callaway looks the same as the Magnacharger offerings it is much different. Same exterior different internal casting & design according to Callaway Cars. Callaway Engineers developed their own systems to work with their own SC. Having the Callaway Badging is a great thing to have as you know that more has been done than just slapping a Supercharger on the Camaro. It takes more than a Supercharger to create performance that lasts. Callaway installs their own exhaust system, their own air intake, their own intercooling system, as well as flashing and reprograming the computer system. *******Dont forget that you can keep your factory warranty with Callaway's upgrades, as well as recieving a 3 yr / 36,000 mile warranty on their equipment*******

Though you may save money now, are the savings worth trouble later?

Callaway Upcharge

I'm sorry, but if you research this for 10 minutes you can find a TVS2300 offered by a half-dozen reputable dealers, NICKEY CHEVROLET for one,...ever heard of a ZL-1?, and they offer the kit for 7K! If you check the Callaway site, the link listed was incorrect by the way, the description regarding the rotor design and patent pending IC manifold, etc. is the same stuff that the other dealers are peddling. It's all made my Magnuson. There's nothing proprietary that I've seen yet. Bigger injectors, re-flashing the ECM, bla-bla.., same thing. "Their own intake system"??..really? The pic shows the same black plastic box that everyone else offers, and it's the standard one that comes with the MAGNUSON kit. Magnuson offers the same powertrain warranty also, so that's not a selling point.

So, basically, you're getting an exhaust and some floormats, headrests, a key fob and other engraved trinkets for 10K more. If you want the Callaway name on your car, then this is the way to go....but I would venture to guess most members will end up going another route and put that 10K diff to better use, like a nice 427 long block, in case the first one pops! lol (.and still come out ahead.) Nice sales pitch though.
Do the math!

Golden Super Cruise

If anyone was interested in the Golden Super Cruise.

Saturday April 3 Cruise

There will be a Super Cruise Saturday, April 3rd from 3:00 to 7:00 weather permitting. Van Jeffries will be there as usual.

Please tell your friends. It's time to officially hit the streets so dust off your ride and get out of the house after the long winter.

When we get done at Adam's, we should all head to Golden and make a good Camaro showing at the first Golden Cruise of the year.

I would love to say I am coming, however it has been raining, snowing and thundreing here since about noon and there is about 5 inches of snow on my stupid dirt road again so I probably won't be coming. I did drive it yesterday in anticipation of the snow and it was refreshing as always.

Hey tom. Your question about the mufflers and the holes in them is common. It drives all the moisture out of the bottom so they won't rust from the inside.
