CamaroDreams is the first person I've ever heard of, that wished to go back to Shorties, after getting long tubes. That's with any person, and any car. lol I say if you just want sound, and not have to worry about emissions, get shorties. they use the stock cats.

as for sound better, i'm not sure, i'd have to listen to one in person, on these v6's. lol

I'm not worried about emissions, I have the tune, but if the sound is not different from LT vs ST the price is a big difference...

yeah, I can't comment on the sound personally, but I think most people that went from shorties to long tubes, prefer the long tubes. just a matter of opinion I guess.

The sound was immensely better on shorties. If you want to chase a few extra HP, go long tubes. If you don't, get DT shorties and be done with it.

With long tubes you need cats, tune, and x pipe. Shorties you just weld on and go.

Right after I spent all the money, I too tried to convince myself that I liked it better. I just can't do it. The car is still slow and now sounds much worse than it did. The edge and aggressiveness is gone from the muffler.

I wouldn't say you NEED cats. but bbk comes with a set of hi flows, he's got the tune already, and xpipe depends on what kind of catback/axleback exhaust you have. I had corsa catback and bbk long tubes, no xpipe, and it sounded great. pretty quiet down low, but when you stomp on the gas, it sounded mean. well, mean for a v6. lol

Have to say the best setup I have heard on the LLT in my opinion is Kevin's with Lil' Nasty's as a runner up.

No, I mean fade as in after you've been competing for awhile, if you have no brake upgrades your brakes will begin to "not brake" as they did in the beginning. The brakes will begin to fade and not slow you down as they did in the beginning. This happens because the brakes begin to get too hot. The brembos are better at not allowing this. But I'm not sure if that's a problem for autocrossing as opposed to road racing.

Monchy if you're going for just sound and not concerned about power whatsoever, I also agree to just do shorties. The shorties sound significantly deeper and throatier than a lot of the long tube setups. They also of course come without the CEL problem and you won't need the x-pipe to reduce rasp. The only problem may be actually get a hold of some shorties. Last I heard, JBA wasn't making them anymore and DT was on a massive backorder. It could've been fixed already but I haven't checked in awhile.

I personally think that when going after sound, it's all about changing the idle sound and the partial throttle sound. At WOT, all the v6s sound the exact same to me.

so BBK I don't need to make any changes? if I don't get the Xpipe just bolts on? I have Dynomax bullets exhaust. ..

that is correct, bbk just bolts on. you don't need an xpipe, if you can handle the rasp. lol something you can add later, if you don't like how it sounds.

we had a great time! it was a very short trip, we are back home now.

it is okay, the car gets me to A to B. I am kind of bummed after the hit and run on Thursday.

The trip was amazing. I can't wait to move back to PA in a few years. It is so beautiful this time of year.

I haven't heard jewels in person and don't like to comment on a system till I have heard it in person. Heck I wasn't sure if I was getting the V2s till I heard them in person but when I did hear them I knew it was the sound I was after
