Who has registered or been invited to the launch?
Who plans to attend?

I was late to the party and dint GE around to registering until the evening it was announced. It was already full. It will be in my home town and I likely won't be there. After owning four 5th gens that will bum me out if I don't get an invite.

I bet it pissed off and offended team Camaro too. I'm hoping that all the secrecy surrounding gen6 results in unexpected surprises. GM Powertrain has historically been predictable. I'm hoping those days are over

Yeah, not sure if they'll get serious about the horsepower war. I don't think they care about beating 707 HP and the LT4 is a pretty awesome engine competition considered. They definitely did us proud with the 5th gen selection so there shouldn't be any change this time around. Looking forward to the reveal.

We know it gets the LT1 so more power and lighter weight definitely seem to be in the plan now.

We'll have to wait and see how the SS, 1LE, ZL1 and Z/28 play out. I can see them launching with the 1LE as a package from the start this time. And their has to be a powertrain not announced or known that fills that gap and competes with the Ford flat crank GT350/350R.

But I think those are at least a year out from launch.
Exactly my thought. Makes sense to satisfy those desiring a sportier version of the SS.

Yes hoping to pull the trigger later this year. Moving this summer first.

They are aftermarket. I'm looking at adding the wheels below to the car pictured.

That's exactly how I ended up with #23. The guy who ordered backed out after he heard about the GT500 thinking GM was going to come up with something better. Well they sort of did with the Z/28

Well it's pretty quiet in The House. Irregular attendance.

All good here, though.

How is the new job?

I seriously hope so, on paper the GT350 / 350R looks like it is going to be damn impressive. I'm going to withhold judgment until I've seen 'Ring times or more importantly what Randy Pobst does with it. I will be VERY surprised if Randy isn't given a Z/28 and a GT350 / 350R to test head-to-head. Even if the Z/28 is out of production. I hope the 6th gen has an answer. I don't see GM coming out with another Z/28 that is this balls to the wall, I don't even know what engine they would put into it. I'm hoping for some super secret engine that is in development, with the way GM has been tight lipped about the 6th gen I suppose it is possible but I'm not going to hold my breath especially since it looks like team Corvette has abandoned the high reving N/A motor route.

I agree with you. Ford most certainly one upped Chevrolet. Even though the 662 hp GT500 fails to keep pace with the ZL1 on most tracks and scores low marks in daily driving capacity it definitely dealt a publicity blow to the ZL1.

I wish. I have a pending track day that weekend, so I may be checking my phone for updates in between track sessions.

I agree, looking at the direction GM is taking the Camaro it appears a much higher focus is being put on handling than raw horsepower which I am TOTALLY OK with, however I do not know if that is how the majority of people feel. I think if it was Ford that came out with a 700+ hp Mustang rather than Dodge coming out with the Hellcat you may see more of a response from Chevrolet. Maybe it's just me, but I kind of feel like Dodge is the red headed step child and even though that red headed step child may have just won a Nobel Peace prize, everyone is still like "meh"
