I'm wondering if the car was stolen, hence the "delay" on the title. I would do a search on the VIN# she has and see if it was reported as such.

Sounds like the girlfriend and the boyfriend are both a few fries short of a happy meal.

That's what I caught from the start of this post. Her car looks a lot like the described "scam car"! Well it is a nice "ZLT". LOL. Never heard of that model but I guess you learn something new every day.

They should break up. They'd each be better off.

People should think twice before coming here with odd or untrue threads.....ive seen the camaro5 community solve many mysteries. People that are trying to post crap are quickly figured out....they are tried....sentenced and hung before they know what happened. From helping somebody find where a single bolt goes to helping people with car or mod problem. Nothing gets past this community ....people should understand this before wasting their and our time.

Hopefully you/she have a copy of the initial offer. A description of the car from the seller. Then lawyer up and let the seller know that you plan to sue for fraud unless a total refund is given.

The key is you need to have proof that the seller offered it as a zl1 while knowing it wasnt. If it boils down to the on lt evidence you have is word of mouth, it will be significantly harder to do anything. He said vs she said cases tend to be rather troublesome.

OP I feel bad for her man I really do. She didn't know what she was doing and is ignorant of what she was buying. Craigslist - First red flag to be cautious regardless of what it is. Save the legal fees because like your title says she's SOL.

The seller will simply say she was shown the car, drove the car (surely), answered all her questions, No warranties, sold as is, no sales contract, paid with cash (bad move on every level) - boom done. She would be lucky if a attorney even took the case because there is no case.

That's what I was thinking, but if there are documents involved, then that is a different story as there may be something they can do.

That is, provided they ever get the person to respond....
