Used 75 Camaro = $3500
Rolling restoration over 10 years = $5000
$5 of gas burned in 10 seconds = Priceless!

Ok a couple of things I read your other thread about your issues, all I can say is check the freaking oil when you gas up. Especially being a new car it will "use" some oil. Save you alot of hassle later as you found out.

Secondly I think we need to make a thread about cars with issues. And list the VIN's

It would be a good tool for private buyers as well as dealers. I mean me personally unsuspecting person buying his old camaro. What if they get it and it still has engine issues?

Always a risk buying a used car that it may be someone else s lemon.
That is what Carfax is for and you should contact the previous owner.
I don't think you could make a thread to safeguard against this.

Rick,

I will certainly do so and soon also! I WILL drive this car year round, it's a car after all! I have winter tires already at the dealer, ready to slap on. I will drive one of my other cars during the nasty weather, but driving a Honda Fit or a Toyota Echo just aint' the same as a 2SS Camaro! ;')

It's being rust treated at the dealership and a wax job is being performed before I pick it up.

More pix and vids soon!

Here is a video of my buddies' 65 Chevelle as he put it away for the winter. I used to have a Chevelle and then sold it for my first Camaro a 75'. THen it was the 2LT 2010 Camaro and now this fine 2011 2SS. Can't wait to drive her!

talk to y'all soon!

eB

Even with Carfax you have to be careful. Because stuff DOESN'T get reported. If it is the actual Camaro owner reporting it here then guess what... it is first hand and not second or third or fourth hand knowledge. Case in point... My buddy recently lost his house, his new truck, his 5th wheel trailer and essentially had just his family and clothes to pick up and move on. He needed reliable transportation so he went to a used car dealer and picked out a cherry 2007 VW Jetta for a commuter. He asked for a copy of the carfax and they handed him a copy. He looked at it and it was clear across the board. He had the Jetta for about 5 months and because of circumstances beyond his control, had to sell it. He went to Car Max and they ran the VIN and guess what...the car was stolen previously and had a salvage title! It took 4,000 right off the top of what he had just paid for it. He is now without a set of wheels! Just think if he could have gone to a Jetta Forum and looked up his car by reading real time documentation by the owner! Hmmm. How about we start "ReportMyJalopy.Com"???
