I ordered my Yokohama Parada Spec X all seasons from Tire Rack a couple weeks ago, and had them installed this morning. I noticed quite a difference in handling already, as the Pirelli summer tires really sucked as the temperature dropped.
Thanks to Tire Rack for a great buying experience as well.

Anyone tried the Blizzak DM-V1 tires in the rear since they make a 275/40/20 size? I realize these aren't the suggested speed rating that the LM-60's are, but they have stellar reviews and are less expensive than the LM-60's. I have no intention of doing any more than about 75mph with these in the winter.

I'd be putting the Lm-60's up front probably with a 245/50/20 size.

Any comments/suggestions on if this would/could work or not? I've got a SS and swapping summer/winter tires on the same wheels, so I've got relatively few choices.

It would not be recommended to Stagger the DMV1 with the LM-60s. They are way different in the way they handle. Bad juju.

245/50/20 fit on the front?

Thanks for all the info Rudy.

To anyone on the board: I'm considering a front tire that comes in 245/50/20. Will this fit on the front of a SS?

The recommended tire size thread (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62838) says 29.3" is about the maximum diameter you'd want to go and the 245/50 is about 29.68".

Anyone know FOR SURE if these will fit or not? I know it's pretty close. Thanks.

Here is a thread that covers the Hunter Road Force mounting and balancing that we provide on every wheel and tire package we sell. Helps to ensure a vibration free combination.

Rudy,
Other than the load index and speed rating, is there any difference between the 3 Bizzak models recommended for our cars?
DMV1, LM60, and LM70 are all on the Camaro's "recommended packages" pages. They look like they all have the same tread pattern...

Thanks,
Mike

I'm sure they use different compounds(not from experience, just guessing)

DMV1- A big car/SUV based snow tire. Will have the deepest tread depth which makes it very good for deep snow.

WS70- A car based snow similar to the DMV1. The reason for the 2 different options is based on tire size.

LM60- A performance based winter tire with better dry handling, but it gives up some snow and ice performance to the 2 tires above. There is also some tread compound differences.

my pirelli scorpions seem to handle pretty well dry drove through some snowfall on the way up to pittsburgh last weekend, but no actual snow stuck on the roads. Seems to be doing fine so far.

I live in the great white north. The pirreli scorpions I got off tire rack are awesome. My wife drives an FJ Cruiser, in two wheel drive it has traction control turned on. My Camaro has way better traction than the FJ in two wheel drive.

I hope I never see snow this year. Here in KC we might get 10" in a season or 35". Mine is a daily driver so I have to be prepared. And there is no way I could leave the P-Zeros on anyway. The temperature dropped to about 30 degrees F one day at work and when I left to go home after the car sat for 10 hours, all four tires had flat spots on them for the first 4 or 5 miles.
I bought some LS rims off of a member last summer and sprung for the 18" Scorpion Ice and Snows. I've got right at $1000 in the whole set up. Sure beats wrecking! I tell anyone that asks that I have the LS/RS package.
