Its not a matter of how far, or finding a dealer. It is a matter of finding someone to give me a decent trade in on my Corvette. I can go anywhere now, I'm not gonna get one of the early order cars so it really doesn't matter. I'm about half tempted to wait now until the 2011, I heard it is going to have HUD.

Update:
Talked with customer service this morning and there is nothing they can do. They don't deal with sales issues. I have to take it up with my dealer. I really think this is pretty sad. GM should be more involved in their customers all around satisfaction because their dealers are a big representation of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So all I got out of this whole deal was lost my order for getting a car!! Oh well! Some you win and some you loose. Better luck next time.

My god you have the temperment of an angel. I would be and am livid that this happened to you. I was sorry to hear that GM did not care that a dealer was falsifiying information and circumventing the pre order process. I guess the next car that has this much excitement and pre order activity more dealers will pull the same tricks and sooner rather than later the customers will just not waste the time pre ordering a car. God Bless you and I hope something works out for you because you sure deserve it.

I agree, by GM allowing this dealer to circumvent the pre-order process, it is giving all dealers around the country a free pass as well to keep on doing this. I am disgusted by this behavior and lack of a resolution by GM on this..

Our deal was 40K on the road for the Camaro and 27K trade in for the vette. In reality I was giving them MSRP and they were allowing me about 25,800 for my vette.

I did check with GM Customer Service again today and they verified to me that my 2nd order number was cancelled on 3/21. I guess Rod Hatfield decided that it wouldn't be to smart to leave that 2nd order under my name also. Right now, I've just decided that there is a reason behind why this isn't working out for me. I am going to just keep my vette and GM can try and find someone else to make money off of, because it won't be me for now. Thank you all for your input and help that has been offfered. But right now GM has just lost my faith.

Man, I feel so terrible for you. I would be crushed. Like you said though, there is something better down the road for you. Keep your chin up. It seems you are.
Good Luck!

You're doing the right thing. I wish there was something more GM or Scotty could have done. It is nice to have you as a member of this forum and hopefully you continue to come back.

Sorry to hear about your experience that being said it's a free market economy at least for a few days more. Ever heard of buyer beware?
My dealer who I had bought 4 cars from in the past told me the price was to be determined but he'd be glad to take my deposit and i could walk away if the price was too high. Like I dint see that coming, I told him no thanks and kept looking I gave him a few more opportunities but no luck. He even told me to wait till after the demand went down along with the price. He went on to tell me that it was the owners policy to do business like this. Guess what I moved on. So anyhow GM I'm sure knows about dealers circumventing the rules the problem is how do they investigate and enforce them. It would take more money than the government has given them. Everyone should get their prices in writing. Unfortunately the dealer dangled some bait and you took it being an honest trusting customer its all sad but now deal with it and stop blaming the manufacturer, move on. Wish you the best of luck whatever you do.

Ouch, that's a little harsh. I'm a firm believer that the buck stops at the top so I believe GM does share some responsibility here in keeping their dealers honest.

Sorry to hear that what happened to her. I hope she peels the tires off in front of that dealer when she does get the car of her dreams. Hey, a vette's not bad, though. At least she's not having to drive a Yugo around!
