Well I went and took a test sit in the Opel GT. Just barely fit perfectly in the sitting department, enough room to move my feet and everything, BUT the bow around the glass was just at the top of my field of vision, thus meaning that even if I can still drive it like that, there's not way I can drive it with the top up. So the Opel GT goes off my list. Too bad, it's really a pretty pretty car.

Just saw a new G8 GT up close and personal for the first time today, this particular car had the sport package with the "19 wheels which are perfect for setting off the wide-track stance accentuated by the bulging wheel flares. With the Sport package wheels and the Onyx on Red leather interior this car IS the hottest set of wheels anywhere, I don't even think an E60 M5 comes close for good looks and powerful road presence. I had the opportunity to sit inside and there's really nothing quite like it, though the car in discussion didn't have a moonroof (something you can't really get your head around living here in SoCal) it had just about everything else. With the front drivers seat adjusted for my accommodation I assumed that just like every car I sit in the left rear passenger seat would be entirely useless, well I was in for a real surprise, because sitting in the backseat was almost as good as sitting up front, my knees barely touched the drivers seat (6"5" here mind you). I didn't get to drive the car as a customer who came in prior was filling out paper work to buy it. Not a moment or two later after I'm down the street and around the corner the sales man called me back to inform me that the deal fell through and that I could come back and drive the car, but a family emergency prevented me from doing so.
Another time, but Chevy may loose a customer to Pontiac, that's for sure; with the room and added versatility of four doors, not to mention a huge trunk, coupled with the performance offered by the L76 V8 and powerful good looks that conceal all the added bonuses make the G8 GT a hard car to pass up. A test drive is indeed in short order on my list of things to do.

That thing is sexy. I love the 19 inch wheels. The G8 is definitely right up there in a very close second to the Camaro.

i dont like the g8 interior, love everything else about it though. It reminds me of a 90's VW. And when i test drove it, there is no rev line so you kinda have to guess. but thats the only problems i have with the car.

Another car I'll certainly be considering (now in production form):

I agree...the Hyundai Genesis is something to think about...
I honestly will be considering the G8 GXP though... |

Hmm. I said earlier that I wouldn't consider buying any other new car, but I am leaning towards the Volt if the prices are low enough and the reviews are decent. It will be a high cost but the fuel savings will be massive and will cancel out in the long run. I'm thinking around $2000/yr vs an average car by the time it comes out. Thats significant

My second place goes to the UTE, err uhh, G8 ST. Over 360 hp in an el camino body. Sounds handy, I just worry about the traction problems a car with no rear end weight will have.
