This is a Q/A fact from GM.
Q= "How fast will the Z/28 be in the quarter mile?" A= The true performance of the Z28 will be measured in lap times, not straight line performance. To preserve the track-focused nature of the Z/28, it doesn't have the strengthened differential and half shafts of the Zl1, and is not recommended for drag racing. The new Z/28 is designed to be the most track-capable Camaro ever produced by the factory. |

My take, they are building this in the same style as the GTS Porsche came out with, stripped down track cars...I think it is very cool that GM is building the Z28 at all and especially as a track car...I already have a 1LE, but would love to have one of these and maybe will buy one...

That's absolutely disappointing that it's going to be super expensive. I had a feeling they would make it to be the autocross version of the COPO.

Well, in that case, it will be interesting to see where the gen 5 small blocks end up power wise.

Don't buy the Z/28 if you don't like it. Don't complain about the Z/28 not being what you want when you don't want a real Z/28. |

Hell, my 1SS is pretty much a stripped down model with a badass LS3, nice Brembo brakes with the RS package and I paid 33 for it. So just dropping a 427 and some carbon fiber brakes is justification for (speculating at this point) a $50 - 60,000.00 price tag? something ain't right in the world. That b@tch should be way less than the ZL1. With my mods I would still be quicker than this Z (stock) and my mods were approx. 5 grand aaannd the Z is really not much lighter than my LS3. Sorry guys I just don't understand. You can opt out for A/C and it does not have magnetic ride suspension but has a suspension that's rougher than the SS's? Cmon' GM. That 427 ain't that damn much.
