Hey!! Nice first post! I'm sure you'll get attention with that one! Welcome to the site!! And I completely agree with you! They look extremely close to each other! I actually feel like some of the pre-pro's lines are stronger/sharper... It could just be that the angles of the pictures don't match perfectly...or it could be true!!! who knows!

It's not really important but the STI's hood scoop is for the top mount intercooler, not for the intake air.
Also that huge hole in that racing corvette is to function as a front spoiler. The air goes through the mesh grill and then through hole and over the hood. Its able to fit because the engine is moved back to have better weight distribution.

Also can everyone still see the pics on the first page? I cant see them anymore here or on any other pic threads, HELP! All it says is the file name and size but no pics?

Thanks for the welcome! Don't worry about me liking the site, I've been lurking here almost everyday probably longer than most regular posters have been members! Not real big into posting, but am REAL big into Camaros... fell in love 20 years ago when i first saw my uncle's burgandy/gold IROC-Z (I must've been 5!).

Welcome! Its great to have people that understand. I don't need to write this post, but its alot more fun than telling people to read the sig. I think I may have memorized every exterior detail on the Camaro by now, others around here surely have (not going to name names but one that comes to mind starts with "Dragon" and ends in "eye"). I know its similar, but I see the changes. They exist, but barely. From some angles they will be nearly indistinguishable. And that is awesome!

i will maintain that you cannot use a cowl hood on a 4th or 5th gen because of the rake of the windshield. the ferrari is a good example - the older windshields of the 60s were practically perpendicular to the road surface and created a pocket of cold air at the cowl, which would reverse course and flow back along the hood. when you put a motor operated flap at the base of the windshield that opens based on pedal position, (my brother has a 69 and we put a functional cowl hood on his car) and then SEAL the hood on top of the air cleaner (it comes with a large rubber seal)
- it creates a really nice duct for the air to flow in and ontop of the carb.

when you lay the windshield flatter (like in the 4th or 5th gen) you remove that pocket of air at the cowl by creating better airflow over the windshield, and thus negating the positive effects of a cowl induction hood.

Someone wanted to see underhood shots of a 4th Gen SS air induction? Yup, the hood is all metal. That adds the the weight. It is kind of weird how it wraps around, but here it is...and you can also see in the hood scoop how the air is diverted into the two seperate ducts.

This car looks like an animal! Its awesome! I had an M5 rolling next to me today, taunting a losing race, but not with a 2010 Camaro SS, oh no no more of those games, I can't wait! This car looks like the Intimidator!

I'll take the one withe the sunroof!

[QUOTE=Gatecrasher;47487]Those will probably be in the next batch of cars. The manufacturing validation cars. These are just rough engineering cars to test systems. Not the assembly of final parts.

It looks like the cars equipped with a sunroof lose the reverse mohawk.

The solid roof cars keep the mohawk.

The rear-back pillars/windows look completely different than the white one...

Yeah I see the camo attached to the back. Oh and yea true dual exhaust...

They could put clear lenses imposed within the red ones like eurolight but whatever they do DON'T use yellow, at least they are all red on these models so far...

Actually the 2007 Maxima has a pillar simillar to the Camaros with rear camo:

the 4th gen SS hood is fiberglass from 1996-2002. (i have a 2002 SS in my car club. and used to know a guy with a 97 SS).

the only metal hood is the stock hood that comes with the v6/z28

this man speaketh the truth... the '96-'02 SS hoods are made of fiberglass and have supports made of metal... the '93-'02 Z28 hoods are all metal... the funny thing is that I believe the LS1 Z28 hood is lighter than the LS1 SS hood is... I dont know how that is possible, but having picked up both kinds by myself, the Z28 hood feels lighter.

ok i just thought of something, the reason the scoops on the Z06 and camaro is NOT functional, its probably because of the fact that they are not mounted on the actual hood of the car, they are mounted just in front of it, right were the hood latch and stuff would obscure it. if it was move back onto the hood like on the Gen IV it would more than likeliy be functional.

oh and after looking at a photo of the concept, the scoop on it looks fake too. look at the last one in this link and youll see what i mean.

The front vent is functional on the concept.

I hope something like this could survive to production, mostly because it just LOOKS so much better than some chunky black plastic cube for an airbox.
