Awesome garages! I would show mine but I'm sure everyone knows what a carport with a roll box, a floor jack, ramps and two stands looks like, lol.

A light gray with white and black flecks in it is the current plan right now.
But, i haven't set that in stone. I have considered doing a black floor, but it would be a nightmare to keep clean (Forgot to quote the previous message! OOps) |

If you can look past the absence of a Camaro, I can show you one other path a suburban garage can take. I was limited to the existing size of my 20x21 two-car, and my budget was under $3,500 for the project. But I put together a place that makes the most of the available space (for carpentry, metal fab and work on my weekend car) with an assortment of second-hand industrial cabinets that I turned into storage and ten different work surfaces. I did all the work myself, including setting the tile and digging the pit for the lift. Everything in the place is second-hand, re-purposed or home-made.

I finally took the time to work out a place for everything to go when It's not being used. In practice, it makes a huge difference not having to spend so much time looking for things you've misplaced. The car is a 1972 tub with a 1995 engine, a 1977 transaxle and other 911 parts on it that range in age from 1965 to 2000. (The odd thing is that I built it after passing on a pretty nice example of my first choice, a 1st-gen Camaro.) Last edited by Jack Olsen; 01-06-2014 at 01:10 AM. |

I just finished up a new garage and had them pour the entire floor at 6" just to be safe. You can just get some pads poured, though. They will saw cut and reinforce a local area then repour it. -Geoff

Also my garage has the fiberglass filled concrete which helps the PSI rating as well. But when I was researching lifts I found quite a few that only required 4" thick. And if you are looking more at a 4post drive on lift I believe you would be good with your garage at 4" thick because the load is being distributed over 4 pads instead of just two and you the floor would only be seeing vertical forces and no bending moments like you would with 2 pads. Looks like I see the LS1 Tech 4th gen Camaro in the background. Didn't know if you still had that or if you have raced it recently. Nick.
