Easy killers, I work very hard for my camaro ss, and to drive it every single day to enjoy the money well spent into it is the greatest feeling ever. Not only to mention but my daily driver ss never gets tired of hearing the compliment EVERY day

PSA:

I'm sorta new here (2 months) and don't even own a Camaro yet (it's on order and I love learnin' from you folks), so I don't want to be pushy about things, but I know something about tires and can't help myself.

It amazes me how many of you I see talking about driving the car you love so much through winter weather with OE summer-only tires on the car. There's a good reason they're called "summer-only". It has nothing to do with your skill as a driver. Please, please, do yourself, your Camaro and your future innocent road victims a favor and go buy yourself a set of Blizzaks instead of the next go-fast mod you're lusting after.

Please. Really.

You have to be a little careful about making blanket recommendations, and visualizing conditions outside your specific location is part of that. For true snow belt regions and areas subject to lake effects that's a good call, but many regions don't get enough snow to justify them - this season probably being an exception to what's typical in many areas.

I assume you're aware that in order to maximize cold grip and snow grip that other aspects of tire performance are compromised to some extent. In the ordinary wet braking and wet cornering conditions that much of the country is more apt to get, Blizzaks are at best mid-pack against their direct winter tire competitors and well off the performance of the better performance all season tires. That's per Tire Rack's tests, not my individual opinion.

It's amazing how many people on this site will spend $40,000 on a car to not drive it.

Fine get another brand if you're not in love with BStone. Just get somebody's winters on there. And I'm sure you know that there are two types of winters. So the person who lives in an area where it's cold but maybe theynonly get occasional snow can go with performance winters instead of the more extreme snow and ice. My main point stands: don't drive on your OE PZeros in the winter. Heck you shouldn't even store them OFF the car in subzero temps.

I drive my PZeros all winter long. Not one problem with it.

There's snow on the big island right now, but you have to go 13,800 feet above sea level to see it on top of Mauna Kea.
