Any update here MagnumForceGB? Have you run the smaller pulley?

Just the 3.48", had to fix the trans cooler problem I had first. With that fixed though the car ran 12.5 @ 111. Next year I will start going to 3.33", my final goal. I have HP Tuners Pro Suite now so I can make all the fine changes I need to make.

Bumping this for one reason, if you want to do this upgrade a fuel system upgrade or secondary fueling in the form of something like Water/Methanol injection will be required. After 6500 RPM's the fuel injectors will have to be open for over 9.5 ms which will cause misfires. Not only that but timing advanced will be reduced and costing more power than what could be gained.

Water/Methanol injection does work extremely well with the LLT, timing can be advanced and it helps cool the engine down since we don't have an oil cooler. It will require extra tuning though since the engine will run too rich.

This may be a completely wrong assumption, but would using a LF3 HPFP save you from using water/methanol?

Possibly, but that will be for LFX only since the LLT has different fuel hard line from what Gretchen was saying. You shouldn't bend high pressure lines since the smallest crack will expand. I used to work on 3,000 psi hydraulic systems when I worked on F-16's, any small nick in the lines and we had to replace that entire line since that fluid was the only thing that could move the primary flight controls (the Leading Edge Flaps were mechanical).

Here is a datalog snippet that shows no methanol being used. The injection pulse width was so long that the main fuel rail pressure was half of what it is supposed to be. To see what the engine RPM is take the Trans Input cell and add the TCC slip RPM cell next to it, that will give you the true engine RPM. Bank 1 is leaner since Bank 2 has an exhaust leak at mid-rpm, which I have to fix.

Oh, O.K. When you put it that way it makes perfect sense, doesn't it!

I gotta sell this car- I'm not smart enough to own it now!!

Nah, that is just when you start doing tuning, the LLT is actually easy. The headache will come with the transmission. Right now I'm getting it feeling great, shifts hard and fast.

Appreciate all your effort! I know one day we will all benefit from it- even if we don't understand it!

can you drive with smaller pulley 3.48 swap without being tuned?

If you have methanol injection, yes. If not, it might run lean and have more knock, causing the engine to overheat. Last year I made a pass with a 3.48" pulley without meth running an IPF tune and the oil was overheated, car pulled a lot of timing. LFX might be different though.

I just need to make a 2 hour drive to tampa fl to get tuned, also magnumforceGB trying to see how you made the pulley fit. with 1/4 in you cut off did you use it as a washer for the other side?

As long as you don't floor it to 6000 RPM's it should be fine.

I used the piece that I cut off as the spacer.

I'm also using a 3.33" pulley now.
