Yea, the limiter probably kicked in at 115-117 MPH effectively ending the pull. Try it in 3rd gear in manual mode next time.... looks like they used 4th for yours. Also, make sure they take off TC and ST for the pulls....

My Dyno #'s

Just got my car in the shop for some bolt on installs. They used a dynocom and the only thing I have installed is an Airaid CAI.

22 May 2010

2010 SS/LS 3
Top HP 385.7 @5800 rpm
Torque 392.6 @ 4650 rpm
90 deg
50% humidity

I am stll new to the dyno but I think those are pretty good #'s for stock. i cant wait to see the #'s next week when all the parst are installed.

If you want you can follow the progress from start to finish at: www.maxxspeed.net/id80.html

I remember the dyno operator saying it hit the limited now that I think about it. I'm going to call on Monday and get more info about what gear he was in and if the controls were turned off. What rpm's are you guys reaching max HP. Looks to me that it is around 6200 rpm from the other graphs.

Its not drivetrain based, its tire based. All camaros with the 18 inch wheel packages have a 115 speed limiter because the BFGs are only rated to 118.

Does anybody know if the Trifecta tune can remove the limiter or change it to a high speed?

my guess with trifecta would be yes they can. I think it's a tire speed rating from the factory on speed limiter caps.

I agree with BMW. Though I think you could possibly put the 20" rims and maybe the dealership would remove the limiter?

Thanks I'll talk with the dealership and see if that's possible. I have H rated 22's, which should be good for at least 130 MPH, so maybe they will consider.
It's not like I'm going to reach speeds higher than 130 anyway.

I will be getting my car on the dyno tomorrow and I want to make sure I know what to do.....please don't call me a noob...I already know I am.

The dyno being used is a mobile Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer.

I have the automatic so I want to take TC & SC off first, put it in manual mode, get on it, shift up to 3rd and stay there? or did you guys decide 4th is the better gear??

Ask for the results to be SAE calibrated, anything else I need to know?
