If you can change the bracket or tensioner setup to the likes of what ECS sell, or the ESS setup, IMO it is a far better layout.
Or presumably you can just unbolt the tensioner and then refit it ? |

Have you tried a Continental Elite V-belt? I have a Gates HD green belt as a spare, but I see more boost with the Elite. The Green belt is fuzzy and smooth on the inside, just seems like it would slip easier. I believe they are only designed to last longer, not grip more. The Continental is rubbery and has "teeth".
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cel-4100755 The ESS kits run about a 75 inch belt, so this part number wont help you. Sorry. If you can find your size, it would be worth the small investment to give it a shot.

I am running the larger crank pulley (7.8"). Unfortunately the Idler does not have a lower hole option. DSX makes a 4" Idler pulley that might be worth trying and I am looking into an ECS larger lower pulley 8.25"...maybe one of those tow options would help....

IMO, try and modify your kit to this type of pulley/tensioner arrangement. It is a far superior design.

Changing brackets will be last resort... But maybe that is the way it will go. Seems I am stuck between everyone's belt sizes. If someone made a 65.25" 10-rib belt... How can I be the first guy t have this problem with a YSi on vortech brackets?

ESS moves the Two pulleys and tensioner around to give you a good wrap.

I'm sure it wouldn't be rocket science to adapt the good tensioner system to existing brackets.

I highly doubt you want to redo your entire bracket design, and I dont know if the pulley alignment will even be compatible with your crank pulley, BUT, if this can help you in anyway, you are welcome to it. Just cover shipping.
This is the Vortech bracket for the ESS kit. It has holes for two idler pulleys, and the third idler mounts on top of the stock idler on the alternator bracket. Its hard to believe that the Vortech bracket doesnt work though.

eLeSthree,
Thanks so much for the kind offer - I am in comms with ESS pricing out the rest of brackets, pulleys and tensioner. Depending how much they want total, I will take you up on your offer. Thanks again, Dan

Well, replaced the stock 3" idler pulley with a DSX 4" idler pulley (bolted right into the Vortech bracket) and a grip tech 3.3" pulley which also just bolted in.... Car feels much stronger - will run some logs to check for boost and belt slip.

NICE! DSX can make just about anything with their new cnc machines. If that works, it would be a really easy fix. Good luck.
