nope because the 2LT of my dreams was sitting in my dealer's showroom the day I showed up to "casually" inquire about the new camaro. I didn't have to wait months and months to get exactly what I wanted. along with every other reason that everyone else that got a 2LT on here says: better mileage, cheaper insurance, 300hp, and fully loaded at that...

As in, PREMIUM gas by the Exxon Valdez load. Well......maybe not THAT much. I think the biggest difference between the two from a maintenance standpoint is that taking care of the SS will be VERY different than your average car. Again, the non-rotatable tires are a downer, premium gas at 91 octane or higher (Only have 87/89 and 93 here), and no spare tire. The trade-off is a beast of an engine that can handle TONS of abuse (not fragile like glass; Speaking on behalf of the LS3 and not the L99), brakes with tremendous stopping power and torque you are going to feel after virtually every shift, even through smooth, gentle shifts. Bang out a 1st to 2nd shift in an M6 LS3 and TELL me you don't risk whiplash-with-a-smile.

Originally ordered a 2LT. Ended up getting a 2SS. I'm so happy I was able to save a lil cash and upgrade. Thanks GM for restricting the 2LT/RS production when you did!!! I am definately glad I got the 2SS! The v6 is nice but it will not give that high torque driving experience like the v8. NO REGRETS!

Yep, the absolute truth. There are several others getting the same milage. Check out the v6 section.
Its not a consistent thing though, some guys get great MPG, and some get horrible MPG.
Oh and i should mention. I was getting 14.5mpg while keeping the rpm between 2-3000rpm .
Still love the car, but i know i would love if it were an SS as well.
Either way, its fifth gen Camaro, your gonna love it no matter what.....well as long as its not a turbo 4

Now why on earth would anyone entertain the notion that they are sorry for buying the SS !! Can't see it! I have the 2SS and I sit daydreaming every day of ways to mod this baby to up it's output!!

For sure though, I owned the 315 HP 2000 SS and I cannot see why anyone would be dissatisfied is they bought the 2LT .....

Now that everyone has had a couple of days to calm down on this thread, just remember: There is NO substitute for horsepower!

I always thought it was "no replacement for displacement"

(but I will be very happy when I get my V6 someday)

No way I made the right move to a 2LT let me know how it feels when Gas goes to $4.00
a gallon. If I wanted 425 HP All I would have to do is drop in twin turbo
