Look Im not a nerd like everybody on here. He gets it from where your supposed to get it. Im not sure where that is. Probably intel or an intel dealer. Its not black market since it comes with full intel and nvida and what ever other brands warranties. The processor even with his deal was still about 1500 of that budget. I dont think thats black market. My mac is still way better.

wow those 1500 for the cpu i can get those around 900 u must have payed for it the day it came out or something. And i pad is cool but not 500 bucks cool to me im cheap as hell which is why im 21 and own my the car i do i saved alot lol.

I never said it was black market. OEM equipment comes with a warranty. just because it has a warranty doesn't mean its not low end hardware. OEM stuff is those great deals you see online, it has no regular box because it was packaged for resellers to buy and build custom PCs with. $1500 for a processor? I agree with Justin you probably got it the day it came out and got hosed, the most expensive Intel right now is only around $1099 on the street (probably even cheaper if you search).

Point being hes not getting it from Microsoft or Intel or anything special. And not only that but OEM components can be questionable, even from reputable manufacturers. Theres a big diffrence in quality control betwen a computer (mac) built by the same company front to back, and one built by you using OEM parts of possibly questionable origin.

But for real i think this PC mac war is done. We all ended on a good note while fighting over cars computers and money so as rare as it is to see that on a forum lets show the world it can happen and where else better to be but CAMARO5!!!

What is it you do with a Mac for work? Im a complete nerd and love all things "dumb" as my friends say. Sadly at my work we still use windows 2000 I hate it but the software needed only works on that.

I'm afraid you are only convincing me that you really don't know what you're saying. Microsoft doesn't make computers. They make a handful of peripherals like keyboards and mice, and a nifty gaming console. They do not make computers or processors or video cads or motherboards or RAM, etc. Your buddy is obviously selling you a bill of goods here, telling you he's getting you a great deal on some bargain bin junk components and how they are officialy Microsoft parts. No wonder it crashes on you.

I don't really "get" where you say your mac is "worlds ahead" because Apple stopped designing their own computers years ago and simply makes PC clone computers with their OS installed in place of Windows.

If your point is that a "storebought PC" is junk a year later because of bad quality (it breaks down) then I challenge you to say that about a storebought PC that is in the same price range as a Mac.

If you are beating up on PC's because a year later their hardware has been outdated by newer and faster variants, then that point is moot because Macs use the same hardware and are outdated as new developments happen.

I'm not convinced there's any benefit to owning a mac other than a perception of superiority that comes from clever marketing.

I'm not sure how many people know how bad the problem of counterfeit chips is in the low price hardware marketplace. In China, the chip fabricators take their production runs which fail QC and sell them by the pound. Companies buy this stuff and make motherboards and cameras and MP3 players and sell them for impossibly low prices.
