My trans does too but that seems to be the least of it. I am thinking the shim issue is as huge as the synchro replacement is critical to durability, as Rick said in previous posts. As I see it the proper fix may include but not limited to:

1. Separate reservoirs for fluid (brake and clutch)
2. Complete reservoir flush and refill with better DOT 4 Fluid (both systems)
3. Carbon synchro with new retainer ring
4. Proper shimming for input shaft
5. Replacement of any other parts that might have been damaged as a result of bad synchros, fluid, clutch play.

Again, I am no expert but just kind of keeping a running track of what I am reading through several different threads. GM is obviously going to be the final say in what warranty/TSB/recalls are covered.

I don't know what the criteria are for issuing a TSB, but one for the 2nd gear thing should be up there.
it seems to be a pretty common thread between GM, DODGE and FORD on the Tremec6060.

The clutch reservoir thing is going to be my first mod, and you can bet on a lot of complaints later that issue too(crap on brake fluid!)

Good information. With NHTSA on this issue it won't take long for them to address it.

Doesn't sound like a proper discription. That tsb say trouble shifting into 3rd 4th and 5th and 6th gear not 1st to 2nd gear like everyone is describing

PIP4774 is for V6 equiped Camaros ONLY.

#PIP4774A: Soft Or Low Clutch Pedal Hard To Shift Transmission Grind When Shifting Or Unable To Shift - (Apr 19, 2010)

Subject:Soft Or Low Clutch Pedal, Hard To Shift Transmission, Grind When Shifting Or Unable To Shift

Models:2010 Cadillac CTS
2010 Chevrolet Camaro
Built Prior To February 2010 And Equipped With a Manual Transmission RPO MV5 Or MV7

This PI was superseded to add models, change title and customer concern. Please discard PIP4774.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Customers may comment that the clutch pedal is soft, low or the transmission is difficult to shift or cannot be shifted into any gear particularly when at a stop with the engine running or the transmission grinds when shifting into any gear. Technicians may find that the clutch does not completely disengage when the clutch pedal is depressed. This concern may be caused by loose clutch pressure plate bolts.

Recommendation/Instructions:
  1. Check the torque on ALL of the pressure plate bolts, the torque should be at or above 30 N·m (22 lb ft). If all of the bolts were properly torqued replace the bolts and apply red Loctite 242 to the threads, then proceed with published diagnosis. If any of the bolts were found to be loose remove the pressure plate and inspect both the pressure plate surface as well as the clutch disc, if any concerns are found such as heat distress replace the components as necessary using procedures listed in SI.
  2. During reassembling replace all the pressure attaching bolts and apply red Loctite 242 to the threads to make certain the bolts do not come loose.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

Here is the other, Also for V6 equiped Camaros.

#PIP4655: Low Mileage Manual Transmission Difficult To Shift - keywords hard - (Jun 11, 2009)

Subject:Low Mileage Manual Transmission Difficult To Shift

Models:2010 Chevrolet Camaro
Equipped With a Aisin AY6 Manual Transmission RPO MV5 And V-6 Engine

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Customers may comment that the transmission is difficult to shift into 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gears in the above listed vehicle with low mileage, typically below 50 miles (80 kilometers).

Recommendation/Instructions:

The Aisin AY6 transmission synchronizers requires a break in period. The shifting should improve after about 50 miles (80 kilometers) of city driving and shifting of the transmission. Do not attempt any repairs until the break-in period in city type driving has been completed. Vehicles built after June 18th 2009 will have the transmissions broken-in prior to installation into the vehicle and should not exhibit this condition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Just an update on my transmission, the first time it was in they changed a bunch of parts. The second time it's in, they say the transmission needs 20,000 miles to ware in before the grinding goes away! I thinks it's time for a new dealer......

Someone at that dealer is smoking crack. Mine is at the dealer today. I took it in. We look at any/all Camaro TSBs...NONE. They said I may have to take it out with the Service Manager to try and duplicate the problem for him. I am going to have HIM drive it and tell him to drive it like HE STOLE IT!!! I want to see him get on it and try and shift smoothly!!

Ya, he started talking about cone's that needed to seat, it was a very nice BS story. I dropped by yesterday to see what was going on, they tried handing me a TSB that included all GM manual cars and the warm up issue. I handed it back and said great, but mine grind after over 20 miles of driving.
