Ideally I'd like to do my own custom work but I'm not in a position to do that right now. Thought maybe that's why there was an extra bracket, not because there wasn't enough room originally

Honestly think I just misunderstood what the bracket was doing

The faster the impeller spins the more stress it puts on the bracket. If it isn't braced properly the bracket itself can start to bend and cause the belt to become loose. I'm doing it this way since other ways won't hold up to the power my 6-rib system was already putting out.

This is kind of how it will look when I'm done. I need to fit the plate to where the pulley bolt on the jackshaft won't hit anything on the engine. A 20mm cog belt will ride right in the idler pulley. I was going to use spacers instead but found out if I flip the jackshaft I can have the plate sit flush, more stable that way.

Backside of the setup right now. Waiting for a cog belt.

really coming together.. good work..what are you gonna do about tension? if the drive belt is a 6 rib wouldn't that still slip just on a different pulley? or are you changing to the 10 rib that u showed before ?

EDIT: nevermind seen the 10rib on the jackshaft

I have a manual tensioner for it. The main belt is 10-rib, the drive belt is a 20mm cog belt. The cog belt will handle a lot more power than a 6-rib can.

Got the mock-up done and got the measurements for the belt lengths. Waiting for the belts now.

Not pretty but if I can keep full boost all the way through the quarter mile I'll be a lot faster. Plus I will build boost faster off the line.

I might trim up the top part. Right now the system just bolts up to the stock IPF bracket, no modification needed. Only part I don't like is how the crank pulley will be almost 1.5" off the damper. That will put some stress on the crank bearings but these cranks and bearings have shown to be tough. I'm using SBC stuff though so any pulley that can fit a Small Block Chevy, I can use it. Big reason I'm doing it this way is so I can modify it without having to wait on another company.

Got the belts on and that 20mm cog belt should hold more power than the V3 can put out. This is what it looks like with the belts on, I still need to still & tap the final 2 tensioner bolts. That 10 rib looks sweet.

I did make a M12x1.75 tap into the IPF bracket for extra support, but will test it without it first.

It really is amazing the things you come up with all on your own in the garage... This is awesome. Belt slip should be a thing of the past.
