Cal'sbee...this is the same situation many have had,,,it may seem like the end of the world but its not,...we called ofer and what he said was to take the dash out approx. 6-8 inches (slide it straight out as possible,, (2 people job) then push it straight in ...there is some type of flat plastic shelf like apparatus underneath,..patience.. keep us updated...ryd,.

Just got my HUD in, so I wanted to give it a quick test. I plugged in the harness, the switch, and the HUD to the harness under the gauges. Turned the car on, and I don't see the projection. I can hear/see the mirror moving when I move up/down with the switch, but I don't see any projection. Also, I tried plugging in the gauges again to see if that helped, but after turning the key it shut off all the electronics in my car, and the Service Air Bag light is on now.... did I do something terribly wrong? Just wanted to test out the device before I go through with the complete install, but now I'm a bit hesitant.... any ideas?

Alright, it's in. No more airbag warning either. Maybe disconnecting/reconnecting the battery has taken care of it? Not entirely sure.

I do get a "Open and close driver window" message when turning the key to ignition mode. EDIT: I pushed down the window for 5-10 seconds, and rolled it back up for 10 seconds. Repeat with passenger side window and no more message.

The last thing I have to figure out is the harness issue. Right now I can only either have the 4-gauge pack working, or the HUD. When plugging in both (as I posted Friday night), the electronics hadn't worked right, so I'm not going to try that again just yet. I will double-check the harness to make sure all the wires are right when I have some more time.

Here's a question for you all who have done this mod: Normally when you plug in the 4-gauge pack to the other end of the connector (without the HUD harness in the loop) you hear 3-4 clicks coming from the 4-gauge pack. I've heard this sound when disconnecting it long before I've done this mod, so I know it's a good thing. When you plug in the 4-gauge pack to the end of Ofer's harness, do most of you hear the same clicking sound? Mine doesn't seem to make that clicking sound when it's plugged in through the harness.

I'm sure I can figure these things out... but I must say the HUD is awesome. Thanks everyone for contributing to this awesome thread... it has been very helpful in getting this installed.

Right, this is what I wanted to know if you guys are hearing when you disconnect and reconnect the gauge. I'm afraid to turn the key with it connected, since last time it kinda messed up the electronics. So basically if I can confirm that you hear that sound when connecting the gauges to the harness, then I'll know whether or not my harness is working right before I try turning the key, and it'll save me from possibly having the electronic issue again. Does that make sense? Thanks!

Ofer,

Thanks a lot! Got the pm this morning and finished it up. No warnings or anything when I turned it back on. Only scary part, when I first turned the car on, no display, then I realized the switch was in the off position! Had a sinking feeling I forgot a connector somewhere for about 10 seconds, but turned up the brightness and appeared!

So I ordered my parts from gmpartsdirect and usually I have good luck with them. Apparently the HUD part has been cancelled??

Part Number 22759549: Cancelled (PART NO LONGER AVAILABLE)

Any ideas, thanks.
