We had a good time yesterday! It was great to see everyone that was able to brave the weather.
I received my first ever award! We took 2nd in the 2010 & up class, witch is quite an honor considering that included almost all of us. Thank you for your votes!
Watkins Glen was slower in the rain, but still fun, considering a possible slide factor.
We had a couple of hours to kill before we could go on the track, so Steve suggested we check out the Watkins Glen Library and Museum. The historical videos where very interesting. Anyone who gets a chance should stop in and check them out.

The Adventure:
We thought we might save some time and see some new sights by taking a more "direct" route home. Sunset6928 bravely followed as we lead of into the Twilight Zone, AKA Sugar Hill Rd.

WARNING SIGN: After Rd 21 takes a right (GPS said go straight), the center line stopped. To be followed very quickly by...

DANGER SIGN: The pavement ended!
There where no signs saying anything like seasonal use road, and there where still houses, so I thought maybe they where doing some road resurfacing for a short stretch. But as we continued on (more slowly) civilization faded away, and the road got to narrow to turn around. It was a harrowing few miles. I even lost my cell signal! But finally the pavement returned as we crossed Rd 22, and it took us on to Rt 226.

Thanks Jerry, for not being mad.

As posted on the USGMSAT thread . . .

I learned something new Saturday. I don't belong to a Camaro Club but to a club of great friends! You people humble me. My call for support for an event that could have been a total bust due to weather did great because you all rallied around me and made it successful. You are the true meaning of friends.

We had six at the track and it was raining when we went around. I think we still had a good time and it was especially good to see the couple in the 55 Chevy have fun on the track. Running it gives you a new perspective when watching a race there on TV. Because we were there two hours early we had to kill some time down at the race car museum. I learned a lot of things I did not know about Watkins Glen Raceway.

As stated by Spike congratulations to all who won trophies. It was fun seeing Lisa with her poke-a-dot beauty win her first trophy. A special thanks to Mike Barnard Chevrolet Buick for providing the venue. I understand they are now parking their car lot differently since Andy laid down some new lines!

Finally, we haven't counted the receipts yet but I think we covered costs and may have a little we can send to the Children's Hospital. The couple from out of town that won the 50/50 finally called us back and donated their share to the Children's Hospital. So at least $112 will make its way there. I will publish the finally tally when I can set down and calculate it.

Again, thank you to all who came.

No problem Jon. I was just watching for the 2 guys from Deliverance to come out of the woods. I thought I heard some dueling banjos though. Put 326 miles on the Camaro on Saturday. Had a great time. But, please next time route 14 to the 90!!!

would anyone know a shop in the buffalo area that is willing to remove my current cats, replace them with offroad pipes and weld the whole exhaust system? I hit something a week ago and now there is some nasty rattle coming from the damaged cat.

http://solo-performance.com/dealers-usa

They can do everything from tightening a clamp to a full custom system.

I know a great guy at MufflerMan. I don't know if they will do what you want them to, because of the legality of it. They do a lot of custom work on race cars, but those cars are trailered in. You will need to tune it out as well. Simply removing the cats will throw a code. Mike at NewEra in Rochester would be the go-to guy for tuning stuff.
