Hey y'all. Haven't been on here in a little while. Looks like you're all doing well
Test drove an SS (A6) yesterday. It was the first time I've driven an SS. I've been in quite a few, just never driven one. I wouldn't say this anywhere else (due to possible backlash...which IMO would not be warranted whatsoever) but I was unimpressed. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I felt like I was driving a Buick. I actually like the car a lot (I may still trade up) and it drove great, but it didn't have the growl or muscle feel at all (I know mine is a v6 but with the few minor upgrades I have...LT's, intake, TB, exhaust mods...it feels much more like a "muscle" car than the SS did). It was a '13 and the steering wheel and MyLink made it seem more "luxurious" than mine, plus it was so quiet, hence my reference to a Buick. Obviously, I know the car is much faster than mine....I just may have had TOO high expectations plus it didn't have any growl or "muscle" feel which would be an easy exhaust fix. I may still trade (I would really like the low mileage and new warranty....oh yeah....and the two extra cylinders) but it will be super hard to get rid of my car, as I have done a ton to it and I like it a LOT. Plus, if I don't get a good deal on the car, or on my trade in, I won't do it. It was a 1SS/RS w/ painted gfx, 21" 5 spoke wheels and other stuff I don't care about (but would be nice to have) such as rear vision package, Boston acoustic package, power sunroof, floor mats, etc. BTW....I guess the point of my thread is that with some modding the LS/LT is a pretty bada$$ car and IMO isn't exactly leaps and bounds behind an SS....which I'm sure most of you already knew anyway!!!!!! |

I hear ya camaro_rs. I also don't think the 21s helped at all. Although with a couple mods like a CAI and exhaust it will def have that muscle car sound to it. When down at fest I rode in a friends modded SS and I was def impressed although not impressed enough to give up my 6 lol, it means to much to me.

I have been in a few SS and have to agree with this. I havent driven one but I think that the most noticeable difference is the torque which makes the harder pull

BBK stainless steel w/high flow cats. Got a great deal on them, little used but couldn't pass at the price
Going to get the magnaflow xpipe next payday. Then a tune before xmas. And timing doesn't matter since I'm TDY and cannot install any of it until January
