Dont have time to read through all the pages but I have a ridiculous amount of rock chips on the drivers side door/quarter panel of my car, I have maybe 2 on the front facia and 1 on the edge of the hood

It looks so bad on the drivers side I want to have it repainted, it really sucks

8k miles, 1 roadtrip last week 300 miles and the chips were there BEFORE the roadtrip. I drive it 5 miles from home to work 3-4 times a week on the street and casually on my days off, barely any freeway driving

8 K miles here also and same deal- MANY, MANY, (TOO MANY) chips on doors, quarter panels on both sides, hood, a pillars and roof- also notice paint bubbling up from primer on roof. Also, our front fascia has missing paint as well.

Our car is a garage queen. NOT driven in winter, not driven on dirt, gravel roads. Only driven on nice days on dry paved roads. No tailgating and the car is babied with numerous wax coats on always.

Very sad- not my first Camaro but first one with so many paint issues.....love everything else about the car except this...... GM must admit to this and do something about it.

STEP UP GM, give us NO reason to ever even THINK of buying another make

[QUOTE]Since i have had my car which is going on four months i have had many chips. They range all the way from the hood, the front end, the doors and the worst are the side panels right in front of the rear tire. I had the flaps installed to see if that would help any but so far it really has not done anything for me[QUOTE]

As i posted before i have been having alot of chips in my paint more than a brand new car should have. Yesterday i had my car washed and waxed and found the paint was coming off.

I have notice the chipping problem also on the hood, and the clear coat seems to scratch easily, I waited 3 months to cover mine to allow for paint cure and still got scratches from a high quality car cover. I also has some rearend hit my passenger door with thier door and chip it as well. Since reading this have noticed some door edge chips, i agree it does seem to chip easily, I have a 2001 surburban, black also, 130,000 miles with very few chip problems.

I have just over 3000 miles and have many small paint chips. Every time I wash the car I find a new chip. Mostly on the gill area. I don't drive on back roads.
Went to local dealer to order touch up paint. Told them about the problem. They are to look at the car when I go back and pick up the paint. I have never had a car chip this bad before. The big ? is what will they do.....I love this car and don't want to go through this. By the time the car has 20,000 miles on it and keeps chipping like it has been its going to look like crap.

We have many chips as well. I got the clear plastic put on the rear quaters in front of the rear wheels and the rockers. It is the design and not the paint. I cant see GM repainting 100000 cars. If you don't like chips get a car with a boaring design.

I guess I am a lucky one, 8,600 miles and no chips in the gill area...

The car does chip easily. One thing you can try to do is adjust your driving style but even this will not prevent all chips because I stay far away from everybody and I still have a few. Another idea is splash guards. I have them and I don't have any chips in th gill area yet.

2010 Yellow Camaro paint is chipping and I'm pissed off

So I go to the dealer ( Jimmie Johnson) and I'm told the paint chipping off my NEW Camaro is not under warranty ( ok, What is ) and I have to contact General Motors. $40,000 for a car and the cheap paint is chipping off weekly. We also have a 09 Ford Fusion with 16,000 miles and there is not a flaw in the paint anywhere.
The above dealer tells me I need to watch where I drive my car and how I drive it.

I'm wondering if manufacture date has anything to do with the paint issues -- mine has over 2,000 miles and so far no chips or flakes whatsoever.

It was built in May of this year, so is it possible they addressed the paint issues after complaints?

I have one small, but noticeable chip, only because I have to look at it everyday. Thankfully none on the gills up to this point, 4,000 miles driven since May 15th! I can't get enough of this car, I love having it as a daily driver

It may be that when the car is new the paint is soft and it takes time to harden. Not sure yet, time will tell..

Just as a side mote I have had the following cars all with very thin paint easily scratched and show "swirl marks".

2006 dodge charger
2008 scion xb
2008 scion xd
I
Strangely though my 2002 Sebring seemed to have rock hard clear coat I don't recall even a scratch and it never ever showed swirl marks even from those pits of hell known as automatic car washes.
