Interior Panel Swap/ABL

**Disclaimer**

Waiting on a certain company to restock their flexable light tubes to finish this "properly"... not content with the final ABL...

But anyway, was VERY lucky to get with Becky and Maureen at Roger Chevy... where I bought the last set of "Olympic White" trim panels, as GM's on backorder... very simple to do, followed BumbleeBee2009SS's DIY which walked me through easily... only change is I used a Dremmel to clip the melted bolt heads instead of an exacto knife...

I sanded the door panels to allow the ABL to continue to the dash. The white is far more transparent overall than the silver was- theres a bit of a radient light, especially on the dash trim from the pipes. I used colored duct tape to block it out, otherwise you plainly saw the shadow of the double side holding the clips on... Dunno if it's cuz its noew, or aftermarket, but the clips pull the trim in much tighter than the stock did, thus making it difficult to get an appropriate sized "gap" to allow the light to shine up. For the time being I've got my passenger tube resting at the top- vitually unoticeable during the day as it blends with the white panels...

great looking car!

I just picked up a white one myself with black racing strips and black soft top - you are certainly inspiring me to make a few more customizations!

Hey Kev, nice ride it is part of what has gotten me excited about doing some mods to mine and I have not even registered it yet! Where did you find the exhaust tips, I just put on a Borla exhaust and they are saying that with the ground effects they don't suggest and don't have tips.
Thanks,
Steve

Steve... I got the tips thru "Assured Automotive" they no longer list the part, so I had to call and ask for it... they had 2 sets back when I bought them... may still have. Theyre a tight fit, and if not aligned properly, will rattle.

Borla, Stainless works or maybe SLP (one of those) make a dual tip as well... its stainless and not as "finished" looking, but its a 2.5" dual outlet, so it fits better, made specifically for the GFX... easier fit, but I wouldn't like it exposed cuz' of the finish and design...

Whole world of issues arise with the GFX and exhaust tips... too far in and they cause discoloration up the rear valance from the emissions, too close to the valance and they melt the plastic... too far out and, depending on your taste, look like crap... it was a loooong process finding what I liked! Good luck man!
