I was at DEI on April 29th for the Unveiling of the Intimidator. I got to see all 10 special editions in a room and was introduced to a gentleman who purchased two of them. He wanted to purchase a Hall of Fame Camaro last year but was too late. The purchaser's of all nine that was built were present. The 10th car ( the fan favorite ) is being raffled off by the Dale Earnhardt Foundation and some lucky person who buys a ticket will be awarded the car on Christmas Day.There were fans everywhere along with a cool band.. Eddie Francis and the Freight train. I purchased a rare Les Paul Concert guitar they were selling as a tax donation to the Earnhardt Foundation. All musicians at the 2003 concert in Daytona received a guitar. The lead guitarist actually sat down next to me to admire my guitar. I advised him to go inside to see if any were left , he did and came outside with a guitar and a huge grin... they gave him one.
Bar none.. Dale Earnhardt is a legend and has a fan base still huge. I found that out when I unloaded the Hall of Fame Camaro at the National Corvette Musuem. Fans were everywhere and drove from everywhere just to see something in honor of Dale. The Intimidator is a special cool car. To see one is remarkable, but to see all 10 together is something else. Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet won't build alot of these cars because of the time involved to build them. So if you are out and about at car shows or on the road, IF you see one it will be sort of a rarity and the permagrin will still be on the owner's face. I was introduced to one of the Hall of Fame Camaro owner's.. from NY at Monday night's NASCAR Induction ceremony. He was still pumped up from getting one of those last year. No money could buy it and he even said he would probably be buried in it. A guy by the name of David Pearson was there that night getting inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. David was quoted by Sports Illistrated in March of 2001. He said Dale Earnhardt was the King of Racing just like Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll. I applaud Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet for building special cars for the fans.

Unfortunately they are not available separately, only as part of the Intimidator package,They want to keep them "exclusive" as part of the package.
Also they are not really "functional",they are bolted on where the factory little Black air deflector/extension goes.

So, let me get this straight:

They put adjustable struts on the front and rear spoilers that aren't really adjustable...

So, what's the point? I mean, I get that they were going for a certain "look" but if you're going to put something like that on the car, why not make it functional?

To the OP,you seem to have a lot of knowledge about this car,so let me ask you a question.

How does the dealership get away with putting headers on this car, when it's a federal violation to move the cats? Last time I looked it was a $50k fine....per incident.

Not trying to be an ass,but I live close to City Chevrolet(Rick Hendricks) and they do things like this from time to time & this was something I'd always wondered about.

Maybe some kind of exemption perhaps?

Well I just left the dealership and got to look at one,and I talked to one of the two techs who built the cars, the struts are adjustable a little, however he's in agreeance with me that we both don't know how "functional" they would be at high speeds,I did hear that one of them was driven up around 120 mph with no issues to either the splitter or rear spoiler.
Again they are bolted onto the front fascia up top just by drilling holes and running the bolts down through, and on the bottom using the factory holes that was used to attach the little Black extension on,no other brackets, braces,or supports are used.
All that being said they are on there pretty damn good and are not falling off! (Unless you curb it real fast!)

Good question,As far as I know its a violation to totally remove the cats,But not to just move them.

Too much Intimidator plastered over it. You could build your own cheaper.
