When I was 15 I fell in love with the 1st generation Camaro and learned everything I could about it before getting my own '68 SS (still have it today) in 1987. At that time, I always would tell people I was born late and would have done everything I could to own a '69 ZL1 if I had lived a generation earlier.

Fast forward through other 1st Gens, a 2nd Gen, and a few Chevy trucks I've owned, (wrenched on hundreds) to the Gen 5 concept Camaro and I started following it closely watching for something worthy of a ZL1. I eventually picked up an automatic 2SS/RS to share with my wife but still held out hope for a ZL1.

Now after exhausting efforts with a local dealer that was too small to get an allocation, countless cold calls, and 2 deposits with 2 different dealers eventually cancelling my first deposit because of ADM mark-up on price, and the roller coaster of my remaining order hitting 3400 multiple times, I have a VIN!!!

Yesterday 2G1FS1EP0C9800140 came down the line and this morning I received the notice!!!

140 is alive!

Congrats to those getting VINS! I was stuck at 3400 (after weeks of moving between 3000 and 3300) and then this morning I went to 4B00! 2G1FS1EP3C9800150 has been born. This calls for a celebration
