We may have a list in a couple weeks if GM files Chap. 11.
Unfortunately for me I had to put off my Camaro purchase by a few years. Needed a more family friendly vehicle first and then the Camaro will be just for me. The problem is I had a very specific set of criteria of what I wanted and there isn’t a Domestic brand that makes what I wanted. Out of all the models from GM, Chrysler and Ford you’d think there would be one but there wasn’t. So while you can improve your marketing and that will help and you are building better cars and that DOES help there are still going to be times when you just won’t have for sale what people want or the niche is to small to bother with. And as I’m sure someone will ask what my criteria were I’ll provide it: Something fast, at least as fast as a Mustang GT Had good handling Manual transmission AWD (didn’t want to bother with snow tires anymore) Mid-sized or smaller, under 3,500lbs preferably but not a deal breaker Four doors Room to carry some stuff (I have two kids) Can be bought for under $33k (not MSRP but what you actually pay) I only found 3 cars that fit: Mitsubishi Evo X, Subaru STI, used Audi S4 (used BMW 335xi’s were too expensive at the time). Got the best deal on and could carry more stuff in the STI. Hopefully in 4 years I’ll have a Camaro 2SS Convertible (or Z28) to go with it. |

On thing people conveniently overlook here...... in the current situation, I have plenty of blame to throw at the White House for many things, but it was GM that went begging to them to help them out. Luca Brazi and the Godfather didn't put a gun to Rick Wagoner's head and ensure him either his brains or his signature would be on a loan from the Government.
Therefore, GM is kind of at the mercy of whatever the govt. wants to do and monkey around with the company, finances, and even product. |
