Bro mine was done by putting a long bolt supplied with the Maggie right under the throttle body and use it to support the pry bar ,I think I have a pic of it here in my computer I'm gonna try and find it.

All this prying that hard is soooooo unnecessary.
He's prying against the belt wrap AND strength of the tensioner. OMG,,,,, you need to do them at the same time. Why the hell would you pry on the idler AGAINST the tension the on the belt when you can release tension temporarily on the belt? Kronix is obviously prying against the belt. He even said the belt seems too small. Kronix, if you are prying against the tension of the belt and NOT holding the tensioner open (released tensione) then you are spending a lot of effort for nothing. Somebody please tell me what I'm missing here? |

I just went outside and took mine loose and then retightened it on video to show you. It really is very easy.
Loading to you tube now. When the vid loads you will see that I was able to pry it over with one hand on a fairly short screw driver holding a video camera with little effort. Just need a second person to make it easy. The pic below is what I ended up with. I can get them closer but it was real quick and I could pry it a bit harder later. Just check the tensioner stops to make sure the tensioner is mostly wound. Last edited by PQ; 08-12-2012 at 03:23 AM. |

Kronix, please don't use a big pry bar on that thing. You just don't need to and you'll only mess shit up.

I never touch the tensioner unless I'm completely removing the belt. You have no belt wrap that way. With the screw in place and the proper belt size the idler will touch the tensioner.
The way you do it in the video does not wrap that belt around the bottom of the pulley. IMO. I could be wrong.

Won't there b the same amount of belt wrap no matter how you tighten things up? It may change where the belt wrap is but I don't see how the method chosen would effect things.

The tensioner moves from right to left under load(no lateral/vertical movement in the idler,so "wrap angle" is constant) . If most of your belt wrap is on the load side of the tensioner what happens to your belt wrap? Again, I'm no expert but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night .

It's going to even up anyway. Start your engine and watch the tensioner bounce. The belt is going to settle in with even tension on both sides of the blower pulley no matter what.
To only pry on the idler is crazy. It's a lot of pressure on the pry points for nothing. |

Not a defense for the sponsor, but they tend to deal with and talk to 100's of people a day, emails, calls, etc... Have you tried calling and talking to them directly? They might be looking at an inbox with 100's of emails, and have to keep it short to talk to everyone.
