Where you get the real bang for your buck is modding the GT500 to crazy power levels on stock internals.

The base Corvette outperforms it on a track. That's the advantage of independent suspension and a lighter wait. I don't know why someone would by a car as expensive as the GT500 that has ancient suspension.

new 2010 handles fairly well, though not like a corvette. it carved into the corners surprisingly well. this is from a new article on the top gear website. a other couple reasons for the GT500 are built engine and easy power adding. though for the money, i think camaro is better overall.

I'm gonna take a stab at your incomprehensible cluster of words here and assume you want to compare a Shelby to the Hennessey Camaro. This means you're trying to compare a factory built car with a 3rd party built car. If you wanna bring up non factory built cars why don't we talk SuperSnake, or just a Shelby with a Kenne Bell. You fail. Please come back when you can form a sentence.

Anyways back on topic... why does this keep getting brought up? Everyone is going to have reasons why one car is better than the other, it's all personal opinion. The fact of the matter is there is nothing to compare to the Shelby, it is more expensive than the SS and in a different class than the Corvette.

This horse has been beat so hard it makes road kill look good! No matter what ANY car company does to increase HP, performance.... etc. What do you think the other manufacture is going to do? At some time, it will have to end otherwise you have inexperienced drivers out on the road with 800+ hp cars and they might be behind YOU! That's a scary thought.........

And then, other journalists got their hands on a stock 2010 GT500 and were able to run 12.3's in stock form (into a headwind, at that).

Wow the CTS-V is almost a full second faster and its a sedan. Makes me wonder what chevrolet would do if they did a supercharged camaro.

The V is a animal, likely the 2010 GT500 with the suspension update will be in the same ballpark, and we hope the Z28 would get the same DNA as the V. Regardless, all the cars are on the top of that list are handling monsters, and not to be taken lightly.
