"Axed" is used out of pure ignorance. "Yester-dee" is an accent.

Ya'll got sum maters & taters? Okay now there is a difference. I am a stickler for grammar & spelling. It takes me forever to post stuff because I will google search to be sure I spell something correctly. Then I get ticked off at myself when I go back later & find typos & of course have to fix them. I rarely call anyone else on their typos, spelling or grammar errors.......................well except for misspelling Camaro!

However, my southern drawl is an entirely different thing. I spent my early adulthood trying to lose it. Then a fellow graduate student taught me to embrace it, understand it's heritage/origin & cherish it as part of who I am. Soooooooooooooooo Ya'll can jest keess Ma grits!

Probably. Whatever. I'm not going to stress over spelling of how things are pronounced in southern drawl.

BTW when you want a dog to go away you say:

g'ofrmrndhr!!! (loudly) That one you really have to HEAR. LOL

Since we've drifted to the subject of pronunciation of words, here are a couple that don't appear to me to be region-based as I have heard many folks from various places and walks-of-life say them:

1. "momento" (moh-mento) instead of "memento" (meh-mento)
2. "foward" (foh-ward) instead of "forward" (four-ward)

*******************************************
EDIT: Seems appropriate:

At least the correct "you're" is used...that is if contraction use is considered "correct"

Why are there apostrophes in lines 2, 4, and 5?
