Interesting, I was just at GPI Friday afternoon and they didn't mention this. I never did cams on my car. We didn't see much benefit for a FI build and after getting the LF3 HPFP I didn't need to add a lobe to drive it. I'll bug Ryan and see if he can tell us more about this LFX w/Cams in AR

I texted him to see if they had worked on one. His reply was just "yes" -- guess he's busy. I've sent him a link so maybe he'll come in and give you all details.

I'm not sure. Basically, anyone that is good with performance builds can do it if they get the parts. Wiseco should still have specs for my pistons/ring package and R&R did the rods. They aren't cheap when you do a one off, but once you have them I would think you've got the hard part done.

The block is strong. The crank is pretty tough (if you don't spin a bearing). The HPFP is a PITA though, so someone that had worked on DI engines would be your best bet.

Yeah, I think Ryan hates my car, lol. They are swamped. The shop was a mad house Friday.

That's probably the case.
Maybe I can talk lethal into doing it as I plan to have them do some work for me. I guess it's a good thing all the new v8s are starting to go DI that way I shouldn't have a problem finding some one to work on this thing lol

If I were to get custom pistons, I would send a sample left and right side piston for someone to go off of...

When I called Wiseco they were trying to tell me that they were making a set for someone while I was talking to them on the phone... They said that they were dropping the compression ratio to 11.5:1 for a guy with a boosted application... I told them the stock compression ratio is 11.5:1. The guy told me I was wrong and the stock compression ratio is 12.5:1... We went round and round for a few minutes, and I decided it would be better to either wait for them to finish this other set and send a sample set of pistons, or just go somewhere else all together.

Probe seemed very willing when I talked to them and wanted samples to go off of. We've had very good luck with Probe pistons in sprint car engines built.

I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling from Wiseco, and we've ordered a lot of pistons from them for various things over the years.
