another problem with the game. is that when the computer spins out or slides out into the dirt and you pass them and get a good lead they for some reason they catch up like they have nos and way more power then you but can't pass you or if they do pass you they don't ditch you.

does this make sense?

its called "rubberbanding". its in a lot of racing games

naw wasn't trying to. guess now i will have to. i am working on mastering all corners in the races cause you get badges.

right now i am rank 19 and still working on the tier 2 races. i wont move on till there all beat first place and all stars.

Yeah I've been trying to get all the stars too... but any race where I have to "spin four opponents"... forget it. I can never seem to get a clean spin on them. The P.I.T. maneuver doesn't work!

Yeah rubberbanding has been in all the NFS games previously to some degree. But I've specifically talked to the devs about Shift and there is no "catchup mode" in Shift. There is varying degree's of AI in the cars, but there is no physics/speed variation based specifically upon your position in the race.
