I was just looking at this thread yesterday because I'm thinking of pulling the Trofeos off of my Z and putting on a more daily driver/street-ish tire that still has good performance.

I will probably only take my car to the track 2-3 times a year with my main enjoyment being driving it on the street and the occasional car show/cruise in. I don't need flypaper tires on it for that since even then I won't be going to the 10/10ths number on those very few times I actually do take it to Mid-Ohio.

So, that's why I'm going to replace them before spring and nicer weather comes to NW Ohio. There are a lot of great recommendations on this thread so it is very helpful, especially those posts with pictures!

Any chance you could get the measurements from outside wall to inside wall of tire? Each company is different on their measurements it seems. I compared the 305 Pirelli's to my 325 Michelin PS2's and the 'so called' narrower Pirelli was noticeably wider than the 'so called' wider 325 PS2's.

For "outside to inside" tire width measurements (aka "section width" in the tire industry) to mean anything, the tire size, its "measuring width wheel", and the actual wheel width all need to be known. The wider the tires and wheels get, the more important this becomes because clearances are getting smaller.

Section width varies slightly depending on the width of the wheel the tire in question is mounted on. The mfr's published section width data is correct only on wheels of "measuring width". On a wider wheel, section width increases about 0.2" for every half inch rim width increase. On a narrower than measuring width wheel, section width decreases by the same amount.

Section width is 13" on all. Tread width is 11.5" (will increase with wear).

Tire manufacturer sizes vary , almost like shoe companies . Some manufacturers offer the half sizes (unbeknownst to them) compared to the competition .

Next time I'll push the envelope a little further on rear tires, currently perfect to
Most but not me.

Yes the fender extensions on Z make the difference, so does the suspension.

With a little research we/you/I can run wider tires than the C7 Z06, especially in the front without looking like BOZOs

What is the expected lifetime on the MPSS? I'd like to do the 325/30/19 square setup but the folks at tirerack seemed to think it would rub on the inside edge...

In my experience with MPSS since 2012 on different cars gets me about 15-17 thousand miles.

If you can stick a finger tip ( about 10mm ) between the inside edge of your Pirelli and the strut a 325 MPSS wont rub. A 325 MPSS wont be any wider than a 305 Trofeo R, If it is it will be marginal.

I posted a picture of those tires on post 159. I'll let the picture do the talking.
