Ohlins Road & Track coilovers
Welcoming @ohlinsusa as the official suspension sponsor for the Z28. We will be running their road and track coil over suspension this season that have been custom valved for our application. These will provide significantly better suspension feel and consistency this season. Removed the parking brake. It’s been on the list for awhile and just haven’t gotten around to it. 3 more pounds of unsprung weight in the rear in each corner

MASSIVE.....pulled the oem Z28 Suspension off the car last night and look at the weight difference. The oem component is 24lbs....the @ohlinsusa front coilover is literally half the weight at only 12 lbs. For anyone that knows me this should be a monumental achievement as I am a wheel man and not a mechanic. Took me probably 10x as long as someone who knows what they are doing but I did do it. Thanks to @chrisfixit for some really good videos. I got a little distracted and around 2am starting cutting a lug nut with the angle grinder just so I could see the “cool” sparks, but that’s another story. @bmrsuspension front sway bar is officially in, hubs are off awaiting the @arpbolts extended studs to be pressed in, oem front Suspension is pulled off the car, trying to figure out the @_lgmotorsports brake spindle cooling piece and how that will work since it’s cut for a C6 ZR1. Then it’s onto the rear. Air impact wrench for the win though. Welcoming @ridetechsuspension as an official sponsor of the Fusion of Ideas Motorsports Z28 Camaro for the 2018 season with their adjustable billet strong arm lower control arm and muscle bar rear sway bar. The weight of the control arm was similar to oem but the most important part is adjustability with the ability of 4 degrees of camber. These things look like jewelry they are done so well and look so nice. The @ridetechsuspension muscle bar sway bar is 2 lbs lighter than the oem sway bar. It has delrin bushings and splined bar has a Positive transfer of motion through the swaybar. Chasing down ounces now to find the same weight as @bill_hurd and his Z28. All said and done with the changes to the chassis and suspension we were able to remove 112 pounds out of the car. (10lbs was the door panels for a total of 122)
The man the myth the legend RobiSpec on site at Fusion of Ideas Motorsports dialing in the @ohlinsusa corner balance, race alignment, camber, caster, ride height and overall suspension setup. Just a few laps around the block and already noticing huge difference. Now just to get out to willow springs with @la_trackday Jan 27th for testing |

Got the wheels back from inspection/ repair and powder coating just in time for #wheelswednesday thanks to @johnmorganevans for the help. The red wheels should look nice and different. The other set will be a satin black.
