I'm fiddna go out and do my grill. I sure as hell would like to not have to take the wheels off.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm getting pretty good at it, but I'd like to not this time.

How much of a pain is it to NOT take the wheels off when removing the front?

EDIT: I see the OP didn't remove the wheels. Cool. And thanks for all your quick responses.

It's not a pain at all. You will just need to turn them from on side to the other when removing the bolts on each side. Leave the wheels on.

Mine took about three hours, but I was doing the halos at the same time, wiring those up and all that. I learned the top bolt in the wheel well area is a pain in the @$$ to get to. That was not fun at all! The rest of the install went smooth, though!

In case anyone missed it:

Reaching those bolts under the wheelwell were brutal! I left the wheels on - wish I had a roll-on lift, it would have been a lot easier to remove the tires and do the job. I love the look!

Looks good with the old school SS... I get so many compliments on mine and alot of the time they say they have never seen one with that grill before and then they ask if mine was a special edition or something...I tell them that it's the GM heritage grill designed to resemble the 69 RS grill and you can get them from, and tell them where I got mine...

Got mine installed yesterday, not too bad with a helper.

Special thanks to Gary for super fast shipping and custom work.

Way better look.

I'm considering painting the sides of mine black too. Any pics further from the car?

Not the greatest photo, but here you go.
I'll try and grab some additional photos this evening.

I never wanted a Heritage grill until I saw a two toned version on a totally different car.

So I got one, did it gloss Black (same paint code as the car) and did a matte black to match the lower grill so that it looked like a true insert piece.

I'll post up better pics when I'm not half asleep

Love it so much now that I won't even put an emblem on it....maybe.

I wish I would have re-read this before I broke all 6 of these this weekend. Actually they still work, but don't fit as tight as original. Anyone know the part number on these? Luckly I figured it out before going to the wheels.

And for the future: If you undo any type of non-screw/bolt thingy take a good look at the first one you undo to really understand what it's doing and how it does it.
