Just picked up our '10 2LT RS today (wife's daily) and the first thing I noticed is the a/c is a little weak. It does get really hot here but the a/c is one of the weakest I've had. The a/c in my '08 Silverado will freeze you out quick though.

Seems Like the SS people have awesome cold AC, while the V6 people have mediocre units from reading this thread.

My air conditioning works great. In fact I made a comment to my wife on our 4th of July trip in the car that it seems to be the coldest air conditioning I have ever experienced. I have a 1LT RS (V6) and after cooling the car down on max with the recirculating on I usually have to keep turning it down to low because it's too cold. Been in the high 80's and 90's here in Chicagoland and on my 4th of July trip to Ohio.

Went to my local dealer today, not the one i bought my car from. They told me that if the freon was low it would pop up a light in the driver information center. They also said that you cant check if its low, the only thing they could do was empty it all out and then refill it from scratch to the recommended level. I called bs immediately and left quickly. Ill just go to my dealer, who aren't hillbillies. Although it has felt colder on it own lately.

mine seems cold enough..not icey like some ive seen/felt.
but it always produces moisture on the out side of the windshield .rate at the vents, also fogging up.
more so in the morning when humidity is highest...here in upstate ny the humidity is ALWAYS high!!!
or if its raining and hot ..never had a/c before so i know nothing about what is normal..any thoughts?

R134 is a gas not a liquid unless under pressure, you couldn't have a "puddle" of 134 under your car, It would be condensate (water) from the evaporator coils, this is normal from any AC system, however if you havn't used your ac or defoggers this fluid would be something else

Of course they can. That said, the easiest test is to simply measure the temperature of the air coming out of the vents. I read somewhere it should be 45 deg but don't take that as the Gospel truth as I'm sure 110 degree AZ heat is different from 88 degree NY heat. Most likely it's supposed to be able to achieve a temperature drop of "x" degrees from ambient temperature down to as cold as "y" degrees. Someone in the know, please chime in with x and y figures.

If you turn on your a/c in the middle of a 20 degree below zero arctic blizzard would it actually warm your car?

So... I grabbed our Fluke temperature IR gun from work and tested mine this morning. As you can see, mine was blowing at 42.5 degrees with an outside ambient temp of 75. Good? Bad? Can't tell you because I don't know what the drop is supposed to be or if it will maintain low 40's when the outside temp climbs to the mid-80's later today. Rest assured, I will measure it again then and report.

no, because the compressor will not run at all...they have a low ambient temperature cut off, the fan will run but that's all you will get. GM cars have been that way for many many years.
