I am pretty much with you on this Camaro was my first Chevy and I love the car but it could have done better with GM support but they let it go. I do not run GM though and it was their choice. I can't entirely say I wouldn't buy a GM truck with a V8 but with my wife having the employee discount perk with Stellantis and my prior employment as a auto technician with them back when they were FCA I can get a way better deal on a Ram and they are also good trucks. EDIT: Anything else GM I wouldn't buy though unless it was maybe a Corvette how GM handled the Camaro left a bad taste for me. Last edited by Devstrike; 03-23-2023 at 11:31 AM. |

I'm probably a sucker for the collectors edition (being a 50 owner) but i swear if they still refuse to put radar cruise in there Chevy is dead to me. I know that's petty but every other muscle car has had it for years. As a DD for me I sure would like to have that and it drives me nuts GM has written off the Camaro.

We all knew the end was coming, but it was good to finally hear it from the horses mouth!
Sales would have improved if GM spent money on advertising and making horse power gains and other improvements as did Ford and especially Dodge. Also, I think GM's focus was on the C8 and just let the Camaro die a slow death.

So they're going to try and make a big deal out of this "Panther" moniker? Pretty lame if you ask me. Might work for a new brand or model, but to put it at the ass-end of the ICE Camaro seems like weak-sauce for an old name they never really used until now...lol
Almost a too late in the game copy of what Dodge has been doing. it's a good distraction and gimmick to spark some interest. But it seems like a great idea for a sticker package after all the years of tongue-tying numbers and letters for the Camaro models. Whatever...It will all be over soon enough. |

Someone posted this a few pages ago but I’m genuinely upset that these types of cars are going away after finally getting in position to be able to buy one a few years ago. I was excited about buying more muscle cars in the future but it looks like that isn’t happening. I actually grew up a mustang guy but I do not like what I’ve seen out of the gen 7 mustang. I don’t like that there is a screen running across the entire dash basically, I don’t like that the msrp is going up even though performance wise the car barely even improved and I also prefer pushrods. It really sucks that my next fun car purchase will probably be my last. I don’t like keeping old cars on the road after a certain point. I hate that GM isn’t giving a 7th gen ice camaro a try. I’m sure if they marketed it and improved upon things that non camaro buyers have said the camaro is bad at, it would sell tremendously better.

I think these are just tricks of the lighting they used for the photo(shop). Every body line and component looks very-very similar, hope I'm wrong and GM throws in something nice, but judging from this pic, the only differences I see are the wheels (maybe, they could by just standard ZL1 wheels) and the bittersweet Camaro/Panther badge.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought that since the Camaro never moved to gm's Global Electronics B Architect from Global A, the platform can't support radar adaptive cruise. If that's the case, there's ZERO chance gm invests the cash to update a very small amount of vehicles, for a single year, with an all new "nervous system".

Maybe it's meant to bridge the name to one they'll use on the likely EV Camaro. Similar to Dodge adding "Banshee" to the Daytona Charger EV. Maybe we'll see a 2026 Chevrolet Camaro SS Panther EV. PS: that panther design gave me a strong '67-'70 Mercury Cougar badge vibes.

There's money on the line to be made with EVs, especially in CUV form. gm knows that and they're not going to leave it on the table if they can get it into their pockets. Remember with the Ultium platform, the hardest part of making a "new/different" vehicle is designing a new top-hat. That means they don't have to work near as hard to make it happen. Easy money is good money.
